Hi new to the forum some great advice on here. I know there are previous posts on speaker upgrades on here - has any one bought a DIY version since lockdown? Seems a lot of people are not / cannot trade and I would like to get these done while I have the time! Any advice greatly received thanks

We offer a few options, plug and play and still doing mail order

Get some Silentcoat and door seals while you’re at it, it can make the factory speakers sound just about passable and with speaker upgrades it’ll make a big difference.

I got a plug/play amp, speaker upgrade for my bus and it’s been well worth it, only took about an hour to fit the lot and that included a few tricky pop rivets on the factory speakers.

What are you wanting from the upgraded head unit? For improved sound, the 'Plug and Play' Eton speaker upgrade is pretty impressive.
Or, these fellas (members here), clearly know their stuff - Absolut5

Hello all, newbie T6 owner here with my first post.

We have just purchased an ex AA 2016 T6, with a view to adding a basic conversion at some point when funds allow. One of the first things I would like to do is to upgrade the audio side of things. I was thinking of getting it fitted for me, as I don't fancy taking the door cards off and trying to run cables etc. I have been looking at Halfords, as they seem more in my current budget range including fitting.

The big question I have really is would a pair of Pioneer / Kenwood speakers (£60 + fitting) and an edge sub or similar (£100 + fitting) make a massive improvement on the standard speakers that are already in there?

As I would imagine is very clear, I dont know a lot about vehicle audio so all advice very welcome. I was hoping to keep the price around £200/£250 if possible as there are so many things to buy!

Thanks in advance

Speak to @Absolut5 and spend a couple of days reading on here.

If a bodger like me can do it, then anyone can.

Plenty of helpful advice on here if you get stuck

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Don't go bonkers with the sound system as you've also got to replace the wheels, tyres, suspension, headlights, seats, get engine remap, add rear spoiler and splitter, remove rear spoiler, regret not buying carbon splitter... it's a punishing hobby/lifestyle!

I've recently changed the speakers (Eton - plug and play), then added a small Kenwood amp, then replaced the amp with a better one and added a sub. I have to say adding the speakers improved things a little but not sufficiently in my opinion for the money, same for the amp, seemed to make it a bit more shouty. The Sub and better amp definitely made all the difference but at a cost, I think if I wasn't prepared to spend what i did i would have been better replacing the head unit than just the speakers. I reckon you'll find a cheaper set of speakers connected to the factory head unit don't make the difference you hope for.

Circa £1800? That’s an estimation - it’ll vary wildly on make, spec, and whether you self-fit or pay someone to fit it.

Unless you use an established method or go to someone who specialises in both sound (ie: doesn’t just sell you stuff they know little of) and vans (what with the way sound carries differently to the cabin of a car), I’d recommend you give Absolut5 a shout with what you want to achieve, and he’ll give you a price. You’ll find he can’t undercut everyone, but he certainly knows what he’s doing when it comes to Transporters.

I just wanted a bit more kick to my OEM Discover Media system. @Absolut5 gave me prices and options for everything but in the end, based on what I needed and had room for (camper conversion), ended up supplying me with a set of Eton speakers to replace the door speakers with. Great upgrade for only a few hundred £.
