There is space to fit bigger speakers than those tiny ones you fitted, I found this pic online for example:

Personally forget all of them and come down to a set of 6.5” when running a 10” sub

we always use Hertz, Audison and Morel 6.5” speakers in the past , with that size sub,

and if you have a 6.1 then it’s 6.5” only as 8” will not fit
