That’s really useful - thank you so much. Is your van standard height? I only ask as I’m down 55mm at the front and 50mm at the rear. Also, do you mind if I ask what wheels you have? Great looking van.

EDIT: just seen the height status
Wheels are Wolfrace Eurosport Munich 18" with the centre caps replaced with VW ones @Leemondo12 made up for me :)

I have bought OEM Springfield 18" rims for my T30.

Got an offer for the following tires with 2* 5,5mm and 2*6,5mm :

Petlas Velox Sport PT741

235/50/18 101w

200 euro's including balancing and fitting the new rims.

  • Should i do this?
  • Any experiences here with this tyre?
  • With the T30, 101W is enough? Its a camper.
Can get them fitted today.

Just from personal choice I would go with michelin x climates. As you have probably spent a pretty penny on the alloys. It’s coming into the back end of the year. And if it’s a Daily driver, I would be putting on something like cross climate / Goodyear vectors stuff like that. I,m sure you have like most of us guys on here havd spent a fortune on our vans/campers. The 101 should be good enough . Hope this helps.

Appreciate it! And you are right. I wasnt actually planning on buying them due to the budget, but got really really lucky with a deal.. bought them for €500,-

Have to bridge a certain period as my own 16 commercial rims are very ugly and tires are done. As long as there are no really bad experiences with this tyres (although on the budget side) i am good for now.

Contacted my VW dealer and they mentioned that the type/stats should fit fine on the rim and compatible with the car.

What tyre pressure pls for 255 45 R18 103Y on a T6/T28 ???? Varying info
Put the details and recommended tyre pressures of the manufacturers original fit tyre into a tyre comparison site and the put the details of the new tyres also the tyre comparison site will compute the correct pressures do the same for unloaded and loaded put the new details on a sticky and place near to the original sticky details.

Mine's running Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3s, 255/45ZR18, and they're pretty good tbf. Already on the van when I bought it. They handle well and aren't noisy, although I don't know how many miles I have on them since I've only done about 7K since I bought the van.
On my previous Jeep Wrangler, I ran Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx tyres and they were also great, looked the part for an offroad look as well

It's turned out I need new front tyres. I've been running F1 Eagle for only 18 months and now they are on the wear mark. I kinda expected them to last longer because I have a Divanti and Continental on the rear. The Divanti I've had since I got the van over 2 and half years ago. Are Michelin CC worth getting or stick with Divanti which has worn well.

How many miles in 18 months? I love my CC2's! 15k and plenty left!

I think I've done about 12k at the most on them compared to 20k on the rear ones.

You are not really comparing apples with apples. CC are all season tyres vs the F1 which are ‘summer’ tyres. If you don’t need the all season aspect there are other quality summer tyres that would last longer than the F1s. Personally I wouldn’t touch a Divanti. If you want the all season bit then it is really best to change all 4 rather than running a mix. The general advice (and what most tyre places will do) is to put the new tyres on the back to avoid oversteering in an emergency due to less grip at the rear. Again there are other options that are as good as the CC and often better value, Conti All Season as an example.

I would not mix tyre types on a vehicle that is winter with summer or all season. I would rarely mix manufactures, perhaps maybe if a tyre outlet was short on stock and I would have to return in a short time or a puncture and driving in a backwater and suffer a blow out and that is all they have. I would very soon rectify matters following those situations. I suspect that many people that change tyre or and wheel sizes do not find the correct pressures for the new tyre set up partially because they do not realise that one should and how to find that information. Incorrect pressures can result in excessive tyre ware as well as poor handling, uncomfortable ride and worse.

The reason why I always recommend All Season, AS tyres is because many people can not afford or have the space at home to store additional sets of tyres summer and winter. AS tyres are where a huge amount of money is being spent and is the most competitive area for tyre development and the very best manufactures produce AS tyres that are very near to the performance of the best that summer or winter can provide. For quite a few years Michelin has done exceptionally well in tyre reviews for AS tyres in original form Michelin CC and in uprated form Michelin CC2. Some other top brands have come very close and recently even exceeded Michelin in some areas of performance though it is an awkward process reading through reviews and amending weighted tests and this years tests may have more sections than the last and even more than the year before. Then one has to look for bias if it might exist towards a particular brand and is one section or more of a test irrelevant for ones own situation. I never bother about mileage, I will have long replaced tyres long before the come towards the end. Don't like tyres that have too much ware even though legal one can feel tyres going off and perhaps on wet roads do not feel as good as they should particularly wet roads that have been dry for long periods and so on. AS tyre such as Michelin CC are 3 peaks M&S are legal for alpine use are most suitable tyre for the majority good even on wet campsites and will be their for you if the weather turns.

I Believer that Michelin new breed of All Season Tyres Michelin CC3 and Michelin CC3 Sport will come out as the very best AS tyres and will reoccupy the top spot! Out on July 1st this year!

You've killed your F1's in 18 months ? 😦
Have they worn evenly ?
Yeah perfectly evenly, both sides the same, dont think I've had any punctures either. Think I paid £350 for both. I've looked on my banking app and I can't see a purchase date but did ask on here back in Dec 23. Always ran between 40 and 48psi depending on what I've carried. Thought they may have lasted longer as they have good reviews. Mostly town driving as well!!!
