Seat Base Electric + EHU + Solar Install + Charger + DC-DC -- How We Done it --

id like to build a thread showing what's possible as regards to seat base builds.

lets post a collection of our electrical installs, be it in the seat base or rear conversion.

just EHU or SCR/VSR, charger, DC-DC etc etc

Or Full on Solar setup . . . . Anything goes.

The idea is to inspire people and share some great ideas, tips and tricks.

I've seen some excellent installs across various threads on here . . . . . id like to bring them together here . . . . .

.

Here's mine. 130ah AGM battery, Redarc DC-DC charger, Victron MTTP, Victron Smart Shunt, Victron Battery Protect (not pictured) and a bank of relays and leisure fuses.

The relays for the leisure circuits are controlled by this switch panel in the overhead cubby hole

And finally, EHU is located under the bonnet- No 240v inside the van, just a starter and leisure battery charger

Valence U27-12XP LifePo4 campervan install under the passenger seat
  • Victron Blue Smart IP22 12/15 (mounted under the driver seat) – Mains hook up charging
  • Victron MPPT 75/15 – Solar charge controller (set with <5 deg C low temperature cut-off).
  • Sterling BB1230 – Battery to Battery charger for when engine running (configured with ignition ON run feed.
  • Victron Battery Protect 12/65 – low voltage load disconnect to protect battery from over discharge (set at 11.5V).
  • Victron BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor – configured to provide low temperature disconnect (<5 deg C) of both the Mains Charger [output disconnect] and Battery to Battery Charger [ignition run signal disconnected] via two external relays. Low temperature, high temperature, low voltage and high voltage BMV alarms were also configured.
  • Master Battery Management System (BMS) based on the Arduino-XP-BMS project with additional Bluetooth connectivity.

Ok here's mine, it's not a fancy setup as it's a day van and nothing more

Ctek 250se as the dc dc charger and solar input
Ctek mxs3.8 as the top up charger for starter and leisure
Bm2 Bluetooth battery monitors on both batteries
120w folding solar panel (input through din connector)
95ah AGM battery

Setup more than enough to run some leds, compressors fridge, usbs etc. Can use 240v through hookup only.

Ignore masking tape, it's so I don't short it while working :whistle:20210131_205817.jpg

The battery goes on top of plinth with the electrics attached to the wall besides it. all hidden below the ‘wardrobe’.

  • Relion RB100 Lithium battery 12 V 100AH
  • Renogy 50A DC-DC On-Board Battery Charger with MPPT (No solar connected but there in the future if we need it)
  • Victron Phoenix Pure sinewave Inverter 12/250
  • Victron Energy BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor - Bluetooth Connection
