[Guide] How To Retrofit MFSW And Cruise Control To T6 Eu6 2019 Startline - Also Hacking DSG Paddles For CCS

Awesome thread, have read it numerous times and decided to have a go so getting all my bits together to do this on my non cruise 2017 Shuttle.

The MFD controls are playing up on the stalk so figure I may as well jump in with the MFSW rather than changing the stalk.

Have ordered the wiring kit from Kufatec.

Just need the two additional repair wires as listed earlier in the thread:

Repair wire 1 - 000 979 009 E (T41 connector end). This shows up on eBay so OK there.

Repair wire 2 - 000 979 026 E (T10 connector ). Not obvious where to get this from. Can anyone advise best place to buy?

I'm new to the T6 and to car/van mods in general so I may be missing an obvious place to go to.

Also, pin removal tools, figure I probably need to pick some up. Any recommendations? Again I'm new to this so dont know if there's a wide range of types/sizes to choose from?

Thanks in advance, really looking forward to getting stuck in with this as my first mod. Hope I don't regret it! :)
eBay too.

Strange, couldn't find that last night, but there it is and now ordered thanks. Just a pin release tool to get and the actual MFSW!

Righto, I've picked up a MFSW on eBay which was advertised as removed from a T6 and came complete with airbag.

Worth paying a bit more I though as will be easier to fit as would save me needing to modify or replace my old airbag wiring loom.

Having received it however it seems to have only 4 wires in the black connector with the fifth having some kind of white blanking cable in it where the blue white cable would normally go.

Reading though the thread it sounds like this won't work? And probably isn't a T6 air bag loom?

If not then is there a straight forward way to modify my new airbag loom to work?

If not then I had already ordered the Kufatec kit so can modify my existing non MFSW airbag with that. Photo of new airbag and loom attached.

Hey guys great post! I can’t quite find the answer I’m looking for though, I’ve got a 16 plate T6 trendline that’s euro 5 with cruise control on the stalk. I really need a leather wheel for grip as I’ve got issues with my hands...

anyway multifunction wheel seems like an awesome idea but I’d like cruise control on the wheel too, I’ve been told it can’t be done on euro 5 models has anyone done it?

Well, I decided to just use the Kufatec kit on my original air bag. Followed the instructions as per beginning of this thread.

All went fine really. Getting to the T10 connector by far the hardest part, actually thought about giving up at this point, quite intimidating trying to get to the bottom of that stack of connectors. Persevered based on the fact so many others had done it successfully. Credit to those that pioneered the procedure!

All buttoned back up today, sound deadened the scuttle while I was in there.

To my slight surprise everything worked perfectly, MFSW and cruise all fully functional .

Morning guys, got my new wheel delivered yesterday :grin bounce: along with loom for the MFSW

I don’t have VCDS or the repair wires yet, if I just stick it on and plug it in will the horn and airbag still work as they should or should I use the original loom just now?

Am I right in thinking just to get the basic buttons to work (no cruise cause, I have that on the stalk euro5) I just need these 2 repair wires and coding?

Repair wire 1 - 000 979 009 E
Repair wire 2 - 000 979 026 E (T10 connector )

D'oh picked up a lovely wheel from a polo with all wiring & airbag... cant get the damn airbag to unlock to check the wiring out before fitting. Looks like one spring is sideways. Any tricks?

Anyone know how to code in a mfsw using OBDeleven pro

Travelinlite sell the cables check under steering wheels on there web page comes up as mfsw harness but it’s just two cables with the correct terminals

I just fitted a Mfsw and used this works correctly

Good evening, is it possible to mount the buttons on the steering wheel 5g0959442P instead of 7e0959442 icx? Does only the color of the light change?
Thank you

Greetings, had my new mfsw fitted today, it looks and feels great. Everything is working (phone button, stereo controls, menu / display controls) apart from unfortunately the ccs.

The wheel is the correct t6 button layout, red illumination with CNL.

Van is a 2.0 150 diesel startline, 2016 EU6 with stop start / adblue.

Wire has been added to ecu, and bcm as required with 12v power and the common coding has been done as per this thread.

VCDS shows all buttons on the CCS being recognised by the ECU.

There is no CCS icon in the display on dash when buttons are pressed, nor any error light on dash.

VCDS was showing implausible signal error and as a result CCS system is inactive.

Any help or advice appreciated on where to go from here.

Many thanks.

Correct, no cruise stalks, just new mfsw with Part no.7E0959442 buttons, wired to ecu and bcm.

Odd thing is, nothing cruise related shows at all in cluster.

Thanks.
