I'm in 265/40/20 all round, 8.5" front 10" rest 4Motion. I'm looking at wheels as well and I did read somewhere that 255 was the maximum (recommended) width for an 8.5" rim job.

My fronts do look a bit balloony and the rears a bit stretched ...
Its a common practice to fit all the same tyres on 2 different size rims front and back , we like to stagger the wheels and the tyres because you will always end up with a front tyre that is too big and touches ( Off set dependant )

Thank you, yeah don't get me wrong it looks great with the staggered setup, I'd just like a bit more sidewall cushioning on mine, probably a 255/50/18 (not staggered) as it's only 5mm less diameter but 19% greater sidewall according to the online calculator.

I think I'd need to space the rears out a bit as well with that setup, I have some 10mm (I think) spacers somewhere.

I’ve read through 31 pages and the conundrum of what tyres I put on 20’’ 8.5 alloys has done me in….is the correct answer 265/40/20?

Van is T32 on koni shocks
I'm having the same question, read everything multiple times. I'm thinking 245/45/20.

If anyone is sending their van to Leighton for new wheel upgrades here’s a life lesson I learnt the hard way….

Check you’ve got the correct wheel nut wrench in the van for if you have a flat/blow out. I sent the van into them for a load of upgrades inc new wheels. Never thought to check the bolt size used in the new wheels compared to the standard alloys that came with the van. The Leightons need a 17 inch wrench. I would have assumed given the amount of spent that if the bolts were changed they’d have put a suitable wrench/adaptor in the van…..

I found out the hard way when I went to change the wheel to find the socket size was different, managed to borrow one (snapped it clean in two), so it’s worth checking you have a decent wrench on the van that fits the wheels ;)

One of the reasons I picked the Supermetal wheels in the end was because they are a direct fit. OE wheel bolts and the correct centre bore, so no additional hardware is needed and the head of the bolt size stays the same.

Yes mate, it’s much better. I was running 275’s before and they rubbed on full lock. Much lighter on the front now and no rubbing
Do you have a pic of your set-up mate? Really unsure, I know the 275/40s are too big for the front, albeit I don't seem to get any rubbing (probably because they're bald atm) but I do like the way the 275s look. Cheers.

Putting 245's on the front will be one of the best things you can do!
The improvement in steering is huge.
275's great on the back.
245/45 on the front, 275/40 on the rear, rolling radius is very very close.
