I think I've read every post in this thread today........attached is a pic I stole from this thread to reference.
Does the DRL's look spotty like this or is it just the camera. The first ford focus and fiesta DRL's look like this and seem a bit cheap compared to the modern versions.
Can any one shine some light on this for me....pardon the pun.

The V2 lights look exactly like that pic.

The V3 lights due early next year look like a solid led bar rather than dotty.

I like the V2, but may replace with V3 as the solid LED bar looks more premium.

Any link to version 3 fella?

sorry for the late reply! In the video they look the same unit as the V2, all black but the part around the main lights is silver. The indicator is in the light bar instead of below it. As mentioned above, I'm not a massive fan of the sweeping indicator but the lightbar looks like it's a solid unit instead of the single led that can be seen in the picture above. I think it is the same unit that was brought out for the T5 earlier this year.

It's just bad lighting in the image above, here's another image from the video:

They said they're happy to do a group deal for the forum but think they might have been banned? Not sure why..

On the other hand though we also need some hero to try fitting an H4 Hid retro fit lamp kit to their shonky VW H4 headlights so we can see if that's a viable option too
This has been covered in 'rubbish headlight' type threads previously - I did try a couple of expensive 'reflector' HID kits (not ebay specials) in my H4 units. First kit was 55W and even after turning the bulb warning light off with VCDS, the vehicle would sometimes turn one of the lights off or it would start flashing slowly. Second set was 35W which still caused a bulb warning from time to time. Light output was brighter than stock but it still gave out that horrible puddle of light with the added extra of lots of light scatter above where the cut off should be. On these the light source is moved within a shroud to swap from dipped to main - you could have both lights aligned on dipped however on main they both pointed at different heights. I got the supplier to send a few bulbs for me to try out and every single bulb had a different delta between dipped and main light direction. The other issue is you need to butcher the bulb cover to fit the dipped/main solenoid into the unit. I'm running THQ with halogens now and am more than happy with them.

Thanks for the reply @Mooncat, sounds like I'll stick with my LEDs in H4s for the moment, hopefully Knobshite will eventually send the Canbus filter they've promised as the £63.99 LEDs are brilliant in my 58 plate Daihatsu Popemobile... the wife thanks me for her new headlights of truth and self righteousness!

Fitted my V2 recently. Gorgeous to look at. Indicator looks great. DRL looks so good. BUT.... in the dark? absolute wank. £520 for pretty much a more handsome H4 headlight.

If I had the time and it wasn't a bumper off job i'd be sending them back.

And they've the nerve to say "you have probably fitted the bulbs incorrectly...."

Yeah, course I have.

HIDs. Job done.
