The dots above the DRLs are the indicators
Yeah they are. Whilst those Caddy headlamps have the same split DRL and indicator, the DRL doesn’t appear ‘dotty’. The two little DRLs under each bulb look spot on.

Anyone have any success with using HID's in the standard H4 units?
Tempted to go back to my old lights but put some HID's in. Forum doesn't return many(any) results.

Yeah I used to fit HID's in my old MK3 Golf so I know the risks.

HID's don't dazzle in the THQ lights?

HIDs are much better behind the projectors in the THQ lights. Look back at my pictures on page 41 and you'll see how sharp the cut off is.

I've had many < £20 kits and they've worked just fine. I suspect HIDS4U are no different, just cost more.

I went with a cheap set off Amazon as it was an experiment to see if HIDs offered any improvement over the various halogen and LED bulbs I had tried. I thought that if they worked in terms of performance, but failed prematurely, then they'd get replaced with 'better' ones.

I did have one issue with the passenger side headlight not working on occasion. I had only fitted them quickly and just stuffed all the gubbins wherever it could go without rattling around. I had stuffed the ballast right next to the headlights DRL resistor, which may have been causing the problem. Since moving it, the HIDs have worked perfectly.

Maybe, but I've seen cheap ballasts do some serious damage to car looms, would like to think if you pay a bit more you'd get slightly better quality kit.

Saw a van behind me at the AT roundabout at stony Stratford the other night, the sequential indicators looked great and the main beam also looked good, not sure what people are complaining about. They looked like a halogen lamp, bright and not blinding as I was right in front of them.

They do look good and also look bright. Mine with LEDs in looked fantastic, BUT looking bright and being bright enough to put light on the road are two different things.

Ayup chaps, sorry to bust in but I've got the THQ lights in black with the sequential indicators, can I fit LED bulbs to these , if so what sizes are they and do I have to drop the lights out to change the bulbs ? Its a 68 plate T6 by the way.
Thanks in advance .

You can swap the H7 bulb without removing the lights. It's tricky as you can't see what you are doing, but helped on the drivers side by removing the top of the airbox.

I've had plenty if practice swapping between halogens, LEDs, before settling on HIDs for the best performance from what are pretty rubbish projectors.

Thanks Dubber , it's the hid kit for the dipped lamps I need, so which is it H7 or H1 ?
I'll be getting LED bulbs for the high beams.
