Apologies if these have been posted before..

XtremeVan have posted up a Facebook message showing some aftermarket headlamps with what looks more like a neon-style DRL.
I think I’d still prefer the chrome strip running through it, myself, but each to their own..

I've just read all 27 pages of this thread  and can't figure out the advantage of the THQs (£410) over the VW H7s (£370).

Is it just the LED DRLs, or is there more to it than that?

The THQ use a projector lense for the dip beam this gives a more defined and a crisper spread of light than the non projector VW H7 versions.

Not much in it, imho

Anyone had an issue with there THQ lights ....it seems mine have a weird projection.....I'll try to get some photos but the beam looks very short and not a straight

You need to get the H7 bulbs aligned perfectly and it is very easy to get it wrong as the retaining spring will still fit if it is slightly wrong......get an inspection mirror so you can see the alignment.

It should look like this with a clean cut off and good sized hot spot (NS was a touch high in this photo)

That's for that I'll give it a go ...I'm using PHILLIPS racing vision and the shadow looks more like a bat than straight

Those are GE Megalight Ultra +130 as a reference. I'm fairly sure you'll just need to get the bulbs aligned though as I had exactly the same issue.

I find them not much better than the originals

They are aesthetic only in my opinion,

Light output is no better than original headlamps on dipped beam

Full beam slightly better tho

Fitted the bulbs that came with them

I fitted their 100w bulbs and I can say there not that good...one ballooned which wasn't good so I've decided to go philips as I've found them to be good and reliable.

Noooo.... I'd convinced myself to go for these - primarily to replace the appalling H4's and also as I think they look really good - seems I would only be gaining an aesthetic benefit...

Reading through this long thread a number of people had opted for these instead of H7's, but commented performance was similar so seems odd.

I confuse myself reading this thread. THQ offer two options - super white bulbs or standard with loom - which do you have? I was looking at superwhite but as do some country driving thought go for loom - but seems with loom standard light are not that fab - just concerned if I go for superwhite then main beam might not be brilliant - swings and roundabout ideal would be both but seems that's not available...

Unless I've misunderstood...

Thanks...

My last Transporter T6 was upgraded with the aftermarket Travlin-lite LEDs and have to say, it made a massive difference to light output and overall light coverage with no errors.

My new van has factory LEDs, which are in my opinion a world apart from any aftermarket lights currently available, the VW units are amazing and imho aftermarket units have some way to go before they match the lighting quality.

However, we cant forget that at approx £400 for after market are cheap in comparison to the £2000 price tag of VW units, I'd live with the HQ lights any day if buying outright, but I'm a Yorkshire man :laugh::laugh:

Is there any adjustment on the units to raise the beam up higher, seems mine is low and that's with the light adjustment on the lower dash at no.3

Anyone know how to adjust the THQ headlights?

My beam seems to be low even with the under dash adjustment on no.3

There are adjusters on each unit for both up/down and left/right. You'll need a spanner or socket set.
