Had my name down for these, chris emailed to say they were in, but won't be ordering them as I'm self employed with no money coming in and need to keep all the money I have.
Just don't know how long this is gonna carry on for.
More to worry about than new headlights!

What @dubber36 said. Been down that road myself and with all the help from the guys on here hids is deffo the way to go.

Don't expect too much from the LEDs.

HIDs have been tried and tested on here to establish that they get the best out of these lights.
Yeah, I’ve read those threads. I might explore doing this in the future, I can redeploy the LED bulbs to the wife’s car if i go that route. It won’t be for some time though.

Can't you just cancel the LEDs and have them with halogens in, buy the HID kit and and fit the lot all in one go?

The HIDs come with quite a lot of gubbins, which is much easier to fit tidily before the headlights are installed.

That’s not a bad idea actually...

If the brightness of the lights in the new V3 version are not as bright as I would like, would these be a straight swap out?

Assuming you've got standard halogen bulbs coming from THQ then it's a kind of yes and no answer.

Yes, the bulb itself from the HID kit is a straight swap....

....but no, because you have to find somewhere to put the ballast, canbus resistor etc, the stuff you see in the image a few posts ago.

As @dubber36 has said above, it's much easier to fit all that lot tidily when the headlights are out of the vehicle, but it's not impossible to do it when they're in, just more hassle than it needs to be.

I have ordered the V3's with standard H7 bulbs. So I guess I can buy the conversion kit and have it fitted when the lights are installed?

Folks, I’ve the poor H4,s on my T6 and been looking to upgrade to THQ V2/3,
Does anyone with the V2’s and H7 bulbs notice a big difference at night from the H4’s or is it worth fitting the v3’s with led’s ?.
I’m not technical so the HID kit blows my mind, I’ll looking for the easiest solution to being able to see in the dark without spending £4500.

Here is one of my lights before I fitted it.

You'll see that I've tidied up the original wiring and mounted the ballast under the housing and the other resistor thing to the side.

It saves it all just floating around behind the light.

Hopefully I've shaded the components and where I've mounted below.

Transporterhq (thq) Aftermarket Replacement Headlights

Read on for a few more pages to see the pictures of the 35W 4300k HID kit fitted.

HID is not all that much different to changing the bulb. Everything is pre-wired and it all just plugs together. The only modification you need to make is to cut a hole in the rubber cap in the back of the headlight for the grommet that surrounds the wires to and from the headlight to fit into.

When comparing V1,2 or 3 lights. The dipped projectors and main beam reflectors are the same on all of them. So the conclusions drawn in the linked thread are the same for all versions of the lights.

I’ve ordered them with the Osram night breaker lamps, how do these compare with the HID you are discussing? (I assume they are a different thing)
