T6 OEM LED-headlight retrofit

The DRL Pin was working with H4 before.
So it is connected to the right Pin on BCM.

I took it from the H4 connector and put it on the Led Connector.

Same procedure as driver side. And this is working fine.

DRL on driver side works fine. On passenger side it is not working at all.

The Led stripe on passenger side is working as position light and in combination with "Abblendlicht".

Yes, can confirm that pinout.

Only diffrence is that both mass pins are changed (Pin 7 and 5). But they are connected. Both are mass.
I used the table from TX Board.

Robert, which version of VCP did you use to adjust this parameters? My intention is to try with a cheap copy, I found the 5.5.1

Had the same issue with HBA since retrofitted to LED, in fact I gave up of using AUTO position and HBA in night driving to avoid loosing high beam after several cycles.

Hi pauly, I've been scanning through the amazing information on this retrofit oem leds to a non led t6. I've got the headlights and modules thus far but you mentioned you have made up the harness for the rear of the light to the loom is this something you still sell? Ultimately I just want to get the headlights in and working and worry about the self levelling at a later date. Thanks. Owen.

High beam only? The scan reports fault also for low beams?

Coding seems to be correct as far as known to relate with headlights - assuming you have also OEM LED tail lights? A kind of unknowns differences with most of codings are byte 11 bit 2 and byte 12 bit 1. Do you have original BCM coding available (before any changes)?

Generally the fault "Open or short to plus" points to poor negative/ground connection. Can you measure voltage between lamp connector negative(s) and battery negative when lights are on - e.g. by backprobing the connector, or sticking through wire insulation?

The coding changes are as expected..

However, this might be an interesting one.
Byte 29 bit 5 is now ticked "1" - thus byte 29 is 60 as in OEM LED vans (was before 40) - EDIT: typo (was 27 --> 29)

Reading back through this. Have you remove pin 45 at the BCM? Also have you remove the wires at the plug behind the steering wheel where you fitted pins 9, 10 & 11? If not this could be the issue. It may still be seeing the stalks. Hi I have a 2016 T6 with a steering wheel without buttons...

Before doing anything else I'd like to see a couple of BCM maps - just in case there is an undiscovered parameter.

Please do the procedure below with three different setups (driver door open to keep CANbus alive for two first steps):
(1) IGNition OFF - Light switch OFF​
(2) IGNition OFF - Light switch in position - front fogs on​
(3) IGNition ON - Light switch - "1" - low beam on​

VCDS > Applications > Controller Channel Map

Tick/fill boxes as above and click Go.

VCDS flashes screens for a moment (when finished hit "Done, Go Back") and creates files
blockmap-09-...CSV and adpmap-09-...CSV​
in folder C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Logs\....​

When finished all steps there should be 6 files


Well, after doing the maps above could try experimenting the byte 29 (60 vs. 40 coding) to see what's the effect on your van. EDIT: typo (was 27 --> 29)

My fear is, that this is the issue.

I will cross change the DRL control module to check if control module or headlight is the issue.

My hope was to check it without dismounting bumper and headlights again ;-)

I have found the reason why its not working.

The Pin 12 from the original wiring harness. It has only 0,7v.
Doesnt matter if DRL is on or off. The Pin 12 from passenger side has always 0,7v.

I took the Pin 12 from driver side and put a flying cable to passenger side... and now its working fine.
So now i have to find out, where the oem harness leads to and check where it is not ok.

I need help with long coding. On Transporter T6 (box) I have retrofitted some lights with LED - H4 (headlights), W5W (parking), DLR with P21W, brake lights with P21W and reverse lights also with P21W. All LEDs are from Osram.

Actual long coding of BCM is:
62 A0 30 38 0A 21 20 32 00 20 09 F4 2C 29 8C 54 F0 00 60 F0 60 46 4D 60 32 04 00 22 08 00

I managed to get rid of the warning light (change the bulb) on the dashboard but faults still remain in unit when I read it by VCDS. Cant erase them. Only DLR fault doesnt appear.

Please can someone help me to find out right coding ?

Pretty sure you can't stop it registering a fault, best you can do is what you've already done and stop the light coming on.
