Hello this is my first thread
asking for some help along the way please guys gals
I’m doing something that I’m not sure if someone’s already done or not
i have a 2008 T5 2.5
swapping the interior dash out, crash bar, steering column, heater blower/heater matrix/ aircon unit, door cards and all revel at plastics to a complete T6
so progress so far
dash out
crash bar out steering column out
heater unit out
heater unit back in coolant refilled aircon regassed
crashbar in steering column in
dash switches amended
fuse boxes relays relocated
everything plugged in and tested NO ERRORS
Heater controller manual Bowden cables to electronic climate
Surely its just swapping something thats manual to electronic ????
basically
old unit had :
A large plug that was connected into the rear of the heater controller below
5 big cables
1) white with black stripe *
2) white with red stripe *
3) blue *
4) yellow *
5) black with blue stripe terminated here
the 4 cables with * went to the heater matrix via links
1) white with black stripe *
2) white with red stripe *
3) blue *
4) yellow *
the only cable to continue was the 4) yellow* which was joined to a twin plug with a brown ground passenger side footwell and
went into the heater blower
there’s was then one black plug that was connected with a series of smaller cables
1) brown with red bands ( ground also passenger footwell )
2) orange & green ( can bus high )
3) orange and brown ( can bus low )
4) green
5) white
6) red and white
7) a) white with red
b) blue with green ( both connected to blue plug )
8) a) brown
b) brown and white ( both connected to a grey plastic sensor in the vent )
New heater controller below
then new unit heater blower/heater matrix and air con all as one unit with its own wiring attached
only needed one connecting plug from using existing cables from above
1) big cables a) black and blue
b) brown ( ground passenger footwell )
2) smaller cables a) white
b) green
c) orange and green ( can bus high )
d) orange and brown ( can bus low )
e) brown and white
f) red and white
g) a) purple
b) purple and white ( both connected to air con sensor in dash vent drivers side )
i traced back all other wires that were remaining from existing plugs and the only ones that went into the main harness were the ones I’d re used all others were purely links
1) everything is wired soldered in no errors
2) air con regassed and pressurised NO LEAKS
3) Coolants all topped up and bleed NO AIRLOCKS
4) ignition on engine starts no issues
5) Lights on everything lights up inc new heater controller
6) temp dial moves but no change in temp from vents even though engine is up to temp
7) blower dial works
8) direction dial moves but no change in stepper flaps
9) rear screen button no light when pressed
10) aircon button no light when pressed
11) recirc button no light when pressed
pretty sure all it needs is recoding ?????????
anyone with any comments
