Panel van to........ to be decided.

Nice one bud. Like that a lot. Not sure about the grey over that lovely Midnight Blue but, nice van.

Thanks. For some reason I ended up not too keen on the blue except on really sunny days. I like the grey much more. Plus it doesn’t look dirty within a few hours of washing it lol.

Edit, forgot to press the Post Reply button.

Been a bit lazy with this thread, partly because the build is slow because everyone is so busy.
So just a quick post and more to come when I can.

I was going to use blue faux suede for the roof but now might have to rethink that. Hmmm orange roof lining?

Not added much to the thread recently, for several reasons. 1 then next job really should be windows, but I am waiting for the THQ flush fit, although Im thinking of just non openers as they are taking so long.
2. I cant seem to find any wheels that a) I like b) am happy with the colour c) available in the right fitment and d) are in stock.

However I have managed a small amount of progress.

Rear window tinted. What a palaver that has been.

Used a bit of headlight tint film to do the rear reflectors. It's not as easy as it looks, but I reasonably happy with the result.

Well the wheel search is ongoing. After failing to find anything in 18" swamper type wheels that I really like, I've now decided to look at 19s.

So a visit to a wheel place happened as i was in the area.

Started off, silver or black, this just confirmed I really prefer silver wheels to black as you can just see them (and the detail) much better, especially in photos.

However the wheel guy threw these in the mix. I quite like these. However only available in 20 - so I ruled them out.

So, maybe the Judd T311R in silver (i know these are not Judds but very similar to get the impression.)

As I had decided agains 20s these were brought out which are available in 19. (For some reason the diamond cut looks silver in the photo, but it has a dark tint in reality, but it is also in satin silver, but too much like the Judd.

So I had pretty much decided on the Judd T311R in silver, but they are an oldish wheel now.

Then @T6180 threw some wheels in the mix I hadnt seen before and has now got me considering 20s, and I do like a couple of Radi8 wheels (including his new ones):

Whilst looking at those I spotted some 3sdm I like.

Now I feel Im as far away from a decision as ever. Sometimes I hate wheels. o_O

Just getting ready for the forum NW meet later today, so fitted the sub under the drivers seat to finish off the audio install, apart from a separate volume control for the sub.

OEM seat wiring:

Wires relocated and downward facing sub installed. Was hoping to squeeze the amp under this seat as well, but doesn't look like there is room.

Settings on the amp, might need to fine tune these:

Well I I havent done much recently after having a shit load of problems with a set of wheels I bought off here - finally now got them sorted.

Also had personal stuff going on.

Anyway just before Xmas had some fixed windows fitted to the slider and panel opposite. Well what a disappointment, the glass is crap, has a huge logo/kite mark thingy stamped in the middle, not a corner, and hardly any curve so not following the lines of the van. They will have to be replaced as Im so unhappy with them.

Anyway yesterday I fitted the problematic wheels back on the van.

Also fitted a dash cam. Easy install except I cant locate a fuse to piggyback that will give the always on so the cam will record any incidents when the van is all parked up.

Where was the glass from? That logo sounds annoying.

Funny location for the markings that.
But………it’s not a kombi so you won’t be sat looking out of those windows, and… depending on what you do with the van and the layout with the van furniture or similar you’ll find that you never really look out of the door windows so I’d wait and see how much it annoys you in real-world useage.

Shame about the glass, think that would annoy me too - never seen it in the middle before. Ref the shape - Are the definitely T6 windows, ie he’s not got a generic side window and cut the opening size to suit? Can imagine how gutting it was given the build up and expectation. Nothing that can’t be fixed or changed if your that unhappy with it. Still remember when I had windows fitted by a specialist in my T4, and within a week or so they were both falling out where the surface hadn’t been primed properly. Was a 2 hr drive each way each time to get them done.

Which wheels did you decide on in the end? Any pictures?
