Eibach Pro-Street-S Ride-Height Adjustable Coilovers now available [Post 49 onwards]

I have them on my van and am very pleased with them. Not a huge amount of info available on a search but worth doing. Dampers are actually KW

Is it still a comfortable ride. I had 40mm h&r on 18's on mine and it handled great but it rattled your fillings.

Yeah it’s still pretty comfortable on 265/40/20. The only thing that lets it down, and this could actually just be attributable to the 20” alone and nothing to do with the Eibachs, is resonance on concrete sections of motorway, which can be pretty horrific (eg m25, junction 8 anti clockwise)

I have B14s and get the same resonance on similar surfaces. I also run 265/40 on 20” rims. I think it’s a combination of the larger wheels and the firmer springs and dampers.

We've fitted a couple of sets now, and have been pleased with them. Firm but compliant. The dampers are made by KW, but set to Eibach's rates with their own springs. See my separate thread on suspension. They don't go as allow as B14's for reference.

Ref. the resonance, I think all vehicles are noisy on that particular concrete part of the M25. I'd recommend Goodyear F1 tyres - seem to be the quietest of the bunch.

Well i dread to think how bad it could be then, as i'm on F1's. None of my other cars have been anything like as bad as the van

F1s are the quietest tyres available in that size. My RS3 running MPS4S is every bit as loud. I just think any vehicle with a firmer suspension and less sidewall is noisy over that section. Just turn your music up - By saying that, its bloody loud that I don't even think this would help!

I was like you looking for a good cheap set.....but I couldn't find out any long term reviews so I saved up and bought a more expensive named brand from a suspension specialist.
May not be the way for you but I'm glad I held on.

Hi
I have read a couple of threads on here talking about Eibach coilovers and I am being tempted by them, especially as they are VW approved.

I would appreciate any experience and comments on them before I make my final decision.

I have decided not to go the B14 route or any other make, although I was tempted by the Koni as I have had very good experience of them on previous vehicles I have upgraded.

Thanks

I have them and really rate them. Written a few review type comments in various threads, but in a nutshell i find them very comfortable and not wallowy at all, and that's at 55-60mm down which works well for me. A lot of people talk about their vans "cornering like they're on rails" once they've fitted b14's; i cant say I've found that to be the case with these, although i wouldn't really expect to

I have the Pro Street S as well, with H&R ARB's front and rear, it rides like a car, say a Golf R.

Well, after much thought and discussion with very helpful potential suppliers I have decided to go with the VW Eibach Pro-street S coilovers.

Bognor will be fitting them later this month, Oli has been a wealth of information.

I'll report back once fitted and a few miles on the clock. Hoping for a tad less lean, slightly firmer in the corners and a more compliant and comfortable ride.

I've had these fitted for about a year and have loved the change they have made to the van.
I bought a T30 kombi stock van which was had a bouncy in the sky look, got used to it's handling then decided to have it dealer lowered with the Sportline springs (keeping the 16" Claytons). The change was noticeable, firmer ride, more feedback and a little less wallow. Replaced the 16" Claytons with 18" AEZ strikes (with Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 2 255/45 R18 Y (103)) The feedback from the steering wheel was better. The van stayed like this for a while before getting the Eibach Pro-street S coilovers fitted, the change was, like @Grim Reaper said, like driving a car. There is no wobble or lean if a long corner catches you out, not harsh going over potholes, really surprising what the van can do now.
