Based on the info you have provided I would say that your both 4G0907697G modules are faulty.
I wish I was wrong.
this is what i was thinking.. i will contact the supplier tomorrow and see what they say - I've looked on their site and saw that i have only 14days to return things.. hmmm

thanks for your patience and of course help! i'll see what i can do with the modules.

apart from that @Robert im kind of glad that in the end my wiring seems ok - i was beginning to have doubts! I did a continuity test from several pins to test that all was ok though and it did work..

This is a terminal 30 positive and in H4/H7 is used as the supply for levelling motors but redundant on led
So even VW installs extra wiring into their vehicles - how did they miss that :speechless:

Both are compatible.
I have used G and never had any problems or issues.
It is your choice and your decision.

@Mathewst

Below is all HEX, you need to make this changes from the coding shown at your picture:

Byte 16 should be C0 (o is zero here)

Byte 18 - 73

Byte 19 - 89

Byte 21 - CD

Byte 22 - 79

Byte 23 - 60 is OK

Try it and tell us how it works, should be fine ;)

This worked great on my T5.1 conversion.
Thanks

Modules received this am, swapped out just now fitted it all back together and just did a quick check - i have DRL's :) I'll finish the coding of 55 in the next day or two.

relieved!

thanks to all for the help, patience and availability @Robert @mmi @Pauly @Flyingspanner etc etc you guys rock.

DRLs should appear exact the same as SIDE LIGHTS but brighter(higher luminosity).
So you should see the difference when switching between DRLs and SIDE LIGHTS.

ok tested multiple times with and without engine.. no difference between the drls or sidelights in intensity..

low beam all ok still and high beam ok.

i'll get a look with obd again at some point but we have galeforce winds coming from the arctic so its not fun being outside at the mo :)

So
- no key in the ignition lock + indicator e.g. left --> side/parking lights both front and rear left
- no key in the ignition lock + light switch at side/parking lights --> lights both left+right, both front+rear (all corners)

What's the BCM coding at the moment?
No need to go out - the last one is stored in the OBDeleven. Probably already knew but here it goes anyways:
Just tap your vehicle > Control Units > 09 Central Electrics > Info > Long coding - Tap and hold on the code & paste here

Parking lights work, and in sidelight POS, no key I do have lights all corners just not different from DRLs at the front.. at the moment im not sure if its sidelights or drl's

i havent done this... im feeling it might be the answer.. as when i did a scan the only thing i couldnt clear was in 55..no basic setting.. not sure what to do as i was expecting another option i guess..

1618512922903.png 1618512943890.png this was in basic settings - is it basic headlamp setting or acknowledge basic setting?

and what do i need to put in?!

@Robert @mmi any ideas just on these basic settings - i press on the green check - it seems to start a process but this doesnt do anything - do i need to put a number in here to get it to work?

can i use the same setup as oem? what is this?

Does this mean the lights wont work properly as is?

I have this fault in 55, and this otherone in 19 that i cant clear..

would this be the same difficulty with vcds? @Pauly can i rent the cable from the forum? its a bit expensive for me to justify (having just told the wife im not going to do any more mods!)

Basic setting is for the adjustment, once set AAND SAVED will go out, this is for the range adjusters motor positioning only, then you have them adjusted on a beam setter. Mine were miles out and the fine setting was out too. This won’t have anything to do with DRL op. Did you swap the two wires over at the BCM plug? Can’t remember without looking think they had to swap over to 5/6? if memory serves. I would need to look it up. Robert is best with that info off top of his head probably.

i had
RHS: pin 10 of the 14 pin plug goes to BCM pin 6
LHS: pin 10 of the 14 pin plug goes to BCM pin 5

this what you mean?

for the basic setting - thats the thing i cant seem to set one.. no idea whats happening..

Yes

So go into 55 and into basic settings to set up your headlights. Once in save and exit and erase the fault code. See if that works. I’m assuming when you turn start the engine with the headlights on, the motors don’t cycle down then to running level with that code listed.

Yup exactly they don't do that. I have tested that they move using output test in obd..

So the other option is to take it to a VW garage and ask them to set your lights on a beam setter. Once done it will work. All the time it is stuck in basic settings it won’t and you will have a light on the dash. This is the quickest way to sort it, not necessarily the cheapest though.
I have never used anything other than ODIS and VCDS so unless someone has the diagnosis tool you have and have tried to do basic settings I am of no help sorry.
