H4's suitably 'upgraded' with some new 4500K unbranded bulbs. Appear to be a visible improvement over the OEM Osrams - a whiter light - but yet to drive at night for the acid test.
Hi all
Sought to revisit this subject as I know it's in a thread somewhere but just wanted to check...
I have a 2106 t6 and wanted to change bulbs in main beam , drls but can't get my stubby hands in
Am I right in thinking the only way to do this is to loosen the headlamp unit by removing the grill and bumper ??
Seems very long winded for something you may have to do on the side of a road ..
if so is it straight forward enough
Thanks in advance
Mark
Yes you have to remove bumper/grille to remove the headlight totally but that shouldn't be necessary to just change the bulbs, it's awkward I know but is doable, if you struggle on the drivers side it's not to bad a job to remove the air box to make a bit more space
Yep I had a go last night on the near side managed to remove clip and rubber cover but just couldn't see what I was doing !!
Found out in other thread that Mirror / phone is good idea may have another go later don't really want to take the grill and bumper off if I can help it I'll never get it back again
check out (i think) Pauly's video - it helps massively - after struggling for two hours to no avail, i found a link in another chat and it then litterally took 5 mins to change both.
hopefully this youtube link works, if not type in "headlight buld change" in the search and, i think, the 3rd or 4th one down has the chat with the video.
I've changed all my headlight bulbs now. It's not the easiest thing to do but definately worth it not to have any yellow.
Can't comment yet on the brightness of the Phillips racing + yet because I've not driven that late yet but all the leds are working and not showing any faults
