My van has finally arrived. Loving it.
Due to various issues (many discussed in this thread) I've decided for now to change my approach. I plan to sink my cash into the speakers and sound deadening on the doors. My focus is clarity and control (rather than trying to compete with the 18 year olds in their fiestas
)
If trying to upgrade the sound, what order would you do things and what sort of budget gets you to the tipping point of diminishing returns? e.g., would you upgrade the headunit first (no need for Android auto as I've got that covered) or would investing in a power amp deliver a cleaner sound on a £ for £ basis? If I stick with the factory fit DAB radio that comes in the T6, would you amp it first or sink the money into speakers and deadening?
Could you either post or DM me your speaker packages and costs please? I'm just in that place where I don't want to buy twice, but don't have the money to go all in and do everything at once.

Jason supplied me with an "Absolute Audio" Signature system to fit myself. (Unfortunately Jason was fully booked when I was available). Following a number of messages and photo's from Jason , I've stripped, installed and refitted the van. The sound improvement is outstanding.
I can't praise Jason and his team highly enough for the advice and support they provided whilst I undertook the install, from the hidden dash screws, to the sub level control thank you again.

The most popular head unit we now supply/install is the superb Kenwood DNX 9190dab, it has the fastest processor for application switching, instant Garmin nav boot up after initial bootup, the best screen, it tilts down wards and it is also HD, wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, twin usb, dab, SD/cd/dvd, has the ability to control the optional dash, works with the factory parking sensors and will display the Garmin nav directions on the mfd

We also installed a setup which was a step up from our highly popular Signature, we swapped out the smaller JL amp to a JL Xd1000/5 and configured it to run activity running Hertz Mille component speakers up front, and the sub to the Mighty Hertz Mille 10”. This setup certainly thumped hard.

Customer from Scotland came to see us for an upgrade to his T6 California in recommendation from one of his friends and a previous customer of ours. He chose the superb kenwood DNX9190DABs. Retaining both the USB sockets and original aerials along with the factory rear camera and the KENWOOD microphone was fitted in the original mic location above the drivers head just behind the sun visor then added on the KENWOOD DRV-520 dash cam to be fitted as well. He also chose to have our signature audio set up fitted and this is no easy install to a California due to the amount of wiring under the seats. However as always our original design under seat sub box housing a JL10w1 sub was used which allows us to keep the vehicle wiring secure and also hidden. Then the mini powerhouse JL500/3 amp was fitted under the passenger seat and the cabling was secured and left to allow access of needed. Front speakers as usual were the excellent Hertz Mille Pro 6.5 inch components fitted in original locations so nothing was left out on display.

As you can see from pictures, Eton speakers diameter are way to big (you can compare with original speaker from picture).
You will notice that the cover on new VW is in black plastic material and not sheet metal as from Eton youtube video tutorial (see: "Installing new speaker in a VW T6 | Eton UGVWT6-F2.1 | Einbau-Tutorial | ARS24")
