To summarize,

Only 3 parts of the ducting listed in the post #1 are different according to the model:
  1. The front passenger footstep - difference is presence (Caravelle/Multivan) or absense (Transporter) of courtesy light. The footsteps have a lot of different variations and cost a lot. I 3d-printed a custom vent and embedded it into the existing step.
  2. The air guide B-pillar - 7H5 819 655 A (Caravelle/Multivan) or 7H0 819 655A (smaller/narrower version for Transporter)
  3. Angle-shaped vent B-pillar - 7H5 819 383 A (Caravelle/Multivan, angle bigger than 100 degrees) or 7H0 819 383 B (Transporter, shorter vent, angle is 90 degrees).
In all of the cases above, if you replace H with E in the part numbers, you would be getting same part (example - see OEM part numbers section).

@DaveyB, can I kindly ask you to add this info to the first post? It can take ages for a new user to read 25 pages and the error might be costly.

Interestingly, some B-pillar trims have template embossed at the back while others (with factory sound deadening material) - don't. If you have a trim with embossing on the inner side - you are lucky and saved yourself at least a few hours of trimming and fitting work.

I might be offering the 3-d printed insert for the footsteps, not decided yet though. The footstep also has embossing at the back for the cut-out although VW never offered this vent as a separate article (maybe they planned to)?

I also have a spare air-guide (Y-shape) for Transporters 7H0 819 655A if anyone needs one.

Great job on the 3D printed vent. I’ll be interested if you decide to knock up a few more :)

Sorry if it’s been asked before but is there a full list of parts needed to carry out the modifications for the B pillar outlets and the drivers step inlet. My van is a 2021 swb panel van. I have an account with Tps but they have asked me to identify all parts as it’s not listed against my van. Also is there an adapter needed to attach it to the outlet on an eberspacher heater. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you read the first post?
The adapter need depends on which heater you will install. In general, 3-4 kw heaters will fit with standard parts.

I did read the post but it is dated 2018 and the B pillar cover shown has a cut out for the alarm switch, on the 6.1 they dont have this now. I just wondered if there was an updated list. TPS are sometimes awkward sending parts back if it’s been a special order so just wanted to get everything right if possible.

I saw someone posting that this list is still valid for 6.1. The only thing you need to watch out is what I mentioned in post 483.
The B-pillar cover I had didn't have any alarm switches. I recommend to re-use your current B-pillar cover and cut the holes yourself. You will be more proud of the job done if you do it yourself (needless to say saving the planet from a huge piece of plastic).

The step part numbered i just ordered for mine is 7LA863736E 82V (T6.1 no light)
I dont have the b pillar yet as im undecided if i go that way or not but i have part number 7E0867292AANA2 for my UK highline kombi

Hi @Pauly,
Based on your updated parts list, I believe nothing changed - all parts except for the step and B-pillar trim look like equivalent part numbers. The screws are same also despite different part number.

I presume that list is for Kombi not Cali, the difference being the cover and the top duct? If so do you know the Cali part numbers and the part numbers for the cradle parts?

@VanBlanc The numbers I listed earlier on this page should work - I believe the trims for Cali have similar forms to the Multivan/Caravelle.
What do you mean by cradle?

Thx, I’ll take a look. The OE mounting cradle in post #397

I see, and then I could cut the vents to my existing trim and get a footwell grille from you;)

Looks like there's some interest in these grilles. Let me see if I can buy the 3d printer soon and get my son build the 3d model again so I can offer this to people.

I have the full list of parts for the cradle also, don't know if this was posted before....

Cradle is here: (dont forget the rivets, item 19)
