When all Said and done no matter what you do to it it will always be a Ford transit with a different grille there Ford stamped all over them under the bonnet it’s not about the look it is a Ford and in year gone by Vw fans would never buy a Ford over a Vw as it was a different animal but now it is a FordThanks for all the feedback - positive and negative. It’s here to stay and we all have to accept that when it’s time to change up to the new Transporter this is it. It’s tech is brilliant and it drives really well- so please come and have a drive and see for yourself.
There are lots more plans from various suppliers with bumpers and styling which will transform it further. We also have a kombi option for the panel van which we can’t wait to reveal once we have it sorted.
The funny thing is every trade /sales garages are all saying how good it is and not a single one is mentioning how it’s really still a transit and we have to learn to like it and it will grow on us
Except this ain't a "new generation" Transporter. It's not a Transporter at all - by any meaningful metric it's barely even a VW - and it doesn't embody anything that attracted me to the Transporter scene. The diehard fanbois have moaned with the arrival of every new generation, that's why VW wouldn't cater for that market even if they wanted to - no matter what they did the fanbois would complain.
Ita a commercial proposition. The company make vans, people give money ine exchange for them.Except this ain't a "new generation" Transporter. It's not a Transporter at all - by any meaningful metric it's barely even a VW - and it doesn't embody anything that attracted me to the Transporter scene.
Does that matter a jot to VW? Apparently not. Is there anything we can do about it? No. Will everyone agree with my viewpoint? Obviously not, but then attempting to belittle through the use of pejorative language doesn't invalidate the viewpoint either.
I get all that - just don't like being called a fanbois!Ita a commercial proposition. The company make vans, people give money ine exchange for them.
VW have chosen to call their product Transporter. That VW don't make it themselves is irrelevant to the aforementioned commercial proposition.
No-one gets upset that many BMWs are built by Streyr, or that iPhone are often made by an outside contractor, and thst metric applies here.
Taste is a funny thing and I totally get it that many will just plain and simply not like it. That I can dig. However, most of the excuses trotted out are simply trite.
Wow here we goThe diehard fanbois have moaned with the arrival of every new generation, that's why VW wouldn't cater for that market even if they wanted to - no matter what they did the fanbois would complain.
I don’t have to agree with them either though and I pay to be member on here as well and I’m saying it about all taxes sales not just Bognor Vw and transporter hqI don’t think any criticism can be levelled at BMVS or any others for doing what their business relies on. Regardless of what their personal opinion surrounding it may be - they have to move with the times & they have to sell these new vans. They won’t achieve that by having an openly negative attitude towards it. They can only make it as marketable as they have the power to, after that it’s up to the public to make their own choice. This is their paid for Trade Page on the forum after all
