I can see one in my future, when VW launch a lwb 4wd version cargo with a bit bigger battery. It needs to be able to seat 5 or be able to be converted to a Kombi ,and still hold 3 MTBs in the back. Would take a bit of planning for our twice yearly trip to the Alps.

I actually really like the look, think its a great styling move from VW. Still retains the van look and miles better than the T7 (in my opinion). Definitely a nod to the earlier VW's which have subsequently become icons, VW are definitely using this to their advantage and why not! Boy are they pricey, but then I get the feeling they are designed for top end and should be really well finished and refined in comparison to the standard Kombi's etc which we all then spend a fortune on to get them as such. As a commercial vehicle? not sure apart from maybe Royal mails next postie van! Probably too small for a camper however, but for a family wagon it looks spot on and will tick a lot of boxes for a lot of people and the styling beats anything hands down in that section of the market such as VW sharan, F**d galaxy, citrogen picasso, F**d S max, B max etc etc.

Personally I have mixed feelings about the electric side of things, loads of hurdles to overcome on battery longevity, cost, charging infrastructure, range etc (all the usual suspects) but hey I guess you have to start somewhere! now only if there was a hydrogen one....

edit: oh and 21" alloys look to be an option too... just saying!

Just had a look, in terms of business lease it’s 500 per month. Very appealing. Low bik at 3%. 250 miles at current electricity price makes 22 quid. It would cost me 70 quid with my t6 diesel. Add the buzz doesn’t need servicing. It’s a business winner.
I am already thinking to get one when my EV lease ends July 2023.

This is certainly a vehicle that has divided opinion on our socials!

We had the T7 Multivan Style LWB 1.4T EHybrid for two days to test as a replacement for our Caravelle Executive.

How was it?

It drives very well with light and accurate steering and a clever hybrid system - in fact you forget you are driving a vehicle of this size most of the time. We had it with 7 adults in it and was no issue at all, returning excellent MPG, handling and performance.

The technology in the T7 is very good; keyless entry, wireless Apple car play, heated seats all round, radar cruise, matrix headlights to name a few - this really has all the tech you’ll ever want. The flexible seating options in the rear works really well, especially as you could have the 2nd or third row with three seats in it - however you can’t however have the rear seats facing each other when driving, only stationary.

We find it strange that it has T7 in the name - this feels more of a large Sharan(as pointed out above by @dubber36 ) with some van features in it. We think when the T6 replacement comes out there ‘May’ be a direct Caravelle replacement - maybe not *♂️

The negatives we found were the subjective looks - but we know we can improve these with wheels, suspension and styling- not sure the black/red suits it. The interior plastics feel cheap in places - like most vehicles now! The interior isn’t as big as the Caravelle - although as mentioned it got 7 adults in but was snug. And finally the price - it’s not cheap, but what is these days? ‘Our spec’ is around £73k……

The big question - are we ordering one as a replacement - YES. It’s definitely a step in the right direction for VW and I’m sure we will all warm to the looks as we have with the familiar looking Caddy, and it’s will be another vehicle on our rental fleet with hybrid technology. You’ll be able to hire it when it arrives and see for yourself.

Next up for the fleet will be the ID Buzz…….watch this space

And we managed to clean it for some better pics;

You know we love a brake upgrade - this isn’t for a T6 (although we have something new and exciting to offer very soon for the Transporter).

This is for our 400ps Golf TCR - if you like brakes you are going to love these.

The AP Racing RadiCal2 with 390mm AP racing discs and Mintex pads. They just about fit under our Revo and Oz Racing 19” wheels.

With more and more time with this car spent on track, this is as the perfect choice to go. Tried and tested.

We’ve also added an Racingline Oil cooler, APR coil packs and upgraded the TVS software to Stage 3, to complete this stage of Upgrades.

We are at Goodwood Motor circuit for the day tomorrow testing - If you are in area swing by and say hello :)

Although the bulk of our work has always been specialising in Transporters, our BMVS Sport and Performance departments is always busy with car upgrades too  Get in touch to discuss yours

I'm a bit late to the comments on the I.D. Buzz, but personally, I think it looks great - very excited to see what Oli and other converters/modifiers will do to them. Everything looks better lowered with good wheels, and a few little styling tweaks. It's already a good looking vehicle IMO but with some subtle OEM+ tweaks, well...

I've never been a massive fan of the two-tone look, but a Buzz in a solid all-over colour (Starlight Blue obviously ;)), with some gloss black accents would look MEGA. The two-tone pastel shades are a bit too 'cute' for my liking. The reviews are all v. positive - it'll drive like a luxury car rather than a commercial vehicle (and we all spend a lot of time and money trying to achieve that goal). It's the only EV that excites me TBH, and if it gives pointless SUVs a hard kick in the dick by being way more practical, then its a yes from me. I'm looking forward to seeing one 'in the metal', and watching with interest to see what other model variants they release. Something with the practicality of a kombi would get me a little bit fizzy. I can only imagine what they'll be charging for a Cali version when they get around to building that though!

@Pauly - feel free to move all these Buzz comments to a new thread, don't want to disrupt Oli's business channel!
