AbsoluT5 carpet lining

I've been carpeting mine today and the tailgate has stayed up quite happily. It still has standard Kombi struts and I couldn't get more silent coat in if I tried!

I’m just doing mine with Custom Design 3.6mm ply panels. The sliding door panel has a sliver of ply at edge, around the rubber push/stopper block. Just pondering whether to carpet it, leave it ply or cut it out?

Any advice anyone? @Absolut5 - what do you do?

regards

Ian

PS perhaps more than a sliver....

But we are just as busy doing all sort of electrical, audio and interior work.

This T6 owner came all the way down from the Midlands for us to do his pride and joy.

We love doing these types of installs as they look fantastic when finished

Does anyone on here know where I can find material the same as the front cab OEM ceiling cloth? I need to re do the rear passenger roof lining before I sell mine and thought I may as well try to match it up.

Exactly the same is not available. The nearest I believe, is from Harrisons Trim supplies

I've just done the rear ceiling on a panel van, I used this one.

It's an almost identical match, hard to tell any difference.

I'm very new to the forum here, and my jaw is just hitting the deck on this thread. Such good workmanship @Absolut5 !! It's making me fear the DIY attempt i have (read had) been keen to do.
I am fairly confident that i can get the sound deadening, liner and fleecing work done, but i need to source some ply panels (is there a good company out there who supply T6 pre-cut ply?) and then it's the daunting carpeting.....
@Absolut5 do yo like to do the whole insulation and ply installation yourselves before carpeting, or could a customer come to you with a half-baked project (possibly a bloody good effort of a project!! :)) and you complete the lining?
Thanks in advance!

@Dan Morritz you shouldn't be too afraid of carpeting. A good stretchy carpet will mould quite easily to the majority of contours in the van. The main issue is trying to go round the whole interior in one piece but it can be joined above the rear doors quite neatly to make life easier.

We often have owners who have done the sound proofing/insulation then we finish the carpeting etc
