OEM Webasto Auxiliary Heater To Parking Heater Upgrade

Hi all, I have ordered all the parts as per the list on here and am trying to get ready for the flash and coding required of the Webasto. I am happy to purchase VCDS as I think it will pay itself off with other tasks as well over the next few months/years.

Do I also need VCS to do the actual flash? Or somebody that has it? Everytime I google it it just comes up with probably means VCDS.

Thanks for any help and apologies for the amateur question. I’m new to VW so not familiar with all the software normally yet.
 
Interestingly, the Carsystems and Kufatec sites don't have the factory retrofit kits yet available for T6.1...

it seems that as today, actually Kufatec does have a kit for the T6.1 and specifically for 5 different versions of AC (including manual with passenges cabin 2nd exchanger, like mine, that I discovered being VW option KC4).

So now, together with Danhag, it seems there are 2 commercial offers, similarly priced, that can do the job. At first look I still like more the Danhag, especially the Plug&Play one, because its minimal alterations/rewiring to the Bus.
Danhag does not flash the Webasto, but relies in one CAN box that tricks the whole system. Plus an optional second one if buy the Plug&Play, that is "only" to control the van's fans without rewiring. Interestingly, one could buy the very basic version that controls only the water heater, and work his own way for the fans.

Any update about your solution especially the option of not installing/changing the overhead control panel?

Version 1 is for cars that already have roof control unit.

I already covered what is required in my previous posts. Kufatec site confirms this.
Kufatec prices are horrendous. It's hard to justify the cost they charge, even for new parts!
For example their variant 1 kit without the roof control panel is 800 EUR. This is beyond what can be explained. The price for the same kit on ebay is around 200 eur.

By now we have installed and tested the T6.1 setup and it works. Why shouldn't it work if it's per factory?

Requires wiring and reflashing. For reflashing - ODIS is required and an appropriate adapter.

Regarding parts - please shoot me a PM.
 
@eugene Can you use VCP to reflash the heater or is it ODIS only?
Not always a positive result, unfortunately. I've heard that some people buy everything necessary on Ali. If I was to go this route, I would definitely get a dedicated laptop to ensure no malware is mingling with my work pc. Probably not a topic for this thread.
 
A remote control with these 7N0 numbers is not allowed to work with this 5Q0 control unit. Unless someone installed different electronics and the numbers remained on the housing.

I'm afraid it won't work with VW OEM software.

I read the messages and saw an assumption that in order for the W-BUS management to open, the software must be updated to version 7E0963272C

I have my doubts about 7E0963272C being an update for 7E0963272B - as the control unit ...272 C is for petrol heater.

Hi everyone, I have a t6 MY 2018 and I'm trying to install a telestart T99. I followed the T5 bus bits guide. I flashed the suitable firmware with Odis-e and then did the coding with VCDS. I already had the setup for the LIN line under the seat that I connected to the Telestart receiver. The problem is that the webasto is not working. Can someone help me? Thank you very much.

Per Webasto the Telestart T99 has only 12V and W-bus outputs for heater control - thus not compatible with MB, BMW, VW, Ford heaters factory installed software.

I think the faults 0280, 0282 "Local Data Bus - No communication" are because of the receiver missing/not recognised.
