TSi tuning

Around here all the kids have taken the exhausts off of their diesel Skodas and Golfs so we have to put up the spin-down turbo sounds echoing all around the streets...

Hi all little update on my van since it was locked down, tuning has been hard work with limiters in gearbox etc, manage to get upto 406,3 bhp but now needs more air so I need to put a cold air induction struggling to source, forge have offered to design one, but it’s getting it booked in as they are so busy? Any body help with sourcing etc many thanks in advance

Did you do the tuning yourself?
How reliable will the tune be?

Hi yahya what did they do for you I have been trying to get a quote for a downpipe and cold air box with not much luck for 2 weeks

Had a remap and exhaust by them, the exhaust work was utterly terrible. You would rather pay someone a bit more and get a better job done.

So gents I'll be getting my bus mapped next year when warranty is out. Im not wanting to change turbo etc so remap with some additional bits. In the past I've tuned a B5 RS4 (twin turbo) and went with intercooler, wagner downpipes and some other small tweeks so whats best to do on these TSi's that is available now that I could see about buying up and fitting prior to the remap?

Reading above gutting the DP cats is one way but has anyone done this and checked emissions? What about intercoolers? Any OEM or base upgrades to use? Alos it appears the injectors are okay for what Im looking at, is the fuel pump as okay as well?

I would just like to add in the pieces that will mean it runs well and reliable with a decent amount of power.

I’m quite happy with my 303bhp from a “standard” Pendle tune (maybe a few less BHP when on LPG), with no other changes.
Perhaps if I had 4-motion I might look for more, but not with just front wheel drive.
Good to know that the OEM brakes (T32) are up to the task.

Yeah I dare say that I would be happy but it would be good to fit intercooler or other wee bits to ensure that the engine is running as good as it could.

I agree that it would be better, and if ever I had to replace the intercooler, then I would look at getting a Forge one. But at £480 +VAT it’s more than the remap was!

My main issue is the lack of info on the Forge BOV. I looked at the turbo today and for the life of me can not see how to fit the darn thing. So tight back there and the lack of access is mad.
I take it you got the BOV fitted in the end? Any issues to watch out for?
Was it the simple FMDV14T version you had, or a more complex solenoid one?
I’ve just received mine, and looking at fitting soon.
Thanks.
