OEM Webasto Auxiliary Heater To Parking Heater Upgrade

Hello,

I am new to the forum and have been reading a lot all the information about parking heater conversion. I own a Trendline t6 2019 with the basic webasto able to heat the engine and afterwards the cabin when temperature is under 4-5 degrees. Before going though the CAN conversion I tried the “cheap” way by buying these components:

Receiver: 3Q0963513
Remote control: 3G0963511E
Connector for Telestart module:m
Piggyback fuse connector for 12v and 1a fuse

Now: I see that the reflash file is
FL_7E0963272B__0009.frf

Whereas I have a 7E0963272A one.
Is this going to work to reflash the A version with a B firmware ? Or it is just something which is going to shot my A revision ecu ?

I am using the Odis-e VW reprogramming tool obviously.

Thanks a lot for your help !!
Olivio

The -272A is the parking heater firmware. Though didn't expect to see it on 2019 van as it was installed on the early T6. Is this installed from factory? 🤔 You do have the overhead controller to run it?
Please share full (preferably VCDS) scan of the van.

Thank you for the quick reply. The 272A that I have is installed from factory, nothing got changed since it left production lines. I don’t have the overhead controller to run it, instead I was planning to use the remote to run it via antenna. This is the module I have seen attached picture. Full scan, will do asap .
Thanks ! 🙏

EDIT: Sorry, true that I was mentioning that it was a 272 A on top of the post. Just checked it is truly a 273A.

Ignore the 272 vs 273 confusion.

The real question remains:
Does my 273A dataset allow activation of parking heater via adaptation?

So, if I need to code this in vcds it would be much more confortable.
Else I need to flash to 273B via ODISE I guess ?

Oh ok, thanks mme, I'll do so coupled with a standard VW remote. Hoping the hardware in my 273B is no different then what the 272B expects

What is the recommended telestart module for a t6 with the Thermo Top EVO flashed to firmware 272B?

I am struggling to follow the difference between the t91, t91r and t99

Thanks

Everything's in this thread and also here
Sorry to be a pain, but the issue is that this thread is 22 pages with different modules listed with different problems for each.

My heater is an aux heater so has to be flashed so it works as a parking heater.

My understanding is that because it now has Webasto firmware rather than VW firmware not all VW OEM modules will work. There are posts about someone with a 5Q0963513 having to replace it with the A variant 5Q0963513A.

But I think the video you post is using the 3Q0963513 (although it doesn’t specifically say / show). In the edit it also talks of flashing in a way that could be interpreted as if that is only required for the older 5Q0 variants which would mean that, as I have the aux heater that has been flashed, I would also have to get the older variant?

This is not helped by me living in the UK where it is not easy to get these modules. They are much more expensive and I don’t want to spend money and time buying a module that will not work with my setup. And the silly thing is I don’t even want telestart, I just want to be able to start the heater when parked.

Hence why I am confused.

So, can anyone confirm if a 3Q0963513 receiver should work with a 7E096273B heater flashed with the FL_7E0963272B__0009 firmware?

Or would I be better getting the older 5Q0963513A?

Thanks in advance.

Why do you think you have a webasto firmware?

Are you saying FL_7E0963272B__0009 is NOT Webasto firmware?

Should I be using a different firmware?
This is VW firmware. Honestly, please make an effort to at least watch the video. All of the answers are there and I tried to make it as short as possible.

I am happy to go indepth on anything that is not covered in the video.

Thank you - I appreciate your help - I can understand how it must be frustrating when someone asks a question that has been answered before.

I don't need / want to remote start the heater. I want to turn it on with a switch in the vehicle, such as a toggle switch to 12v.

I think the 5Q0963513A module supports this (on pin 4) but I cannot find anyone who has done this with the newer 3Q0963513 receiver that I think you have used. Nor can I find a pinout of the newer module.

Adding the roof control panel is more work than I am prepared to do.

As the remote has to match the type of receiver, if I get the wrong one, the cost will be high. All of these modules and units are not available in the UK so whilst you pay 30 euro for a remote, here it is 200.

I think where I have gone wrong is thinking the FL_7E0963272B__0009 firmware would enable w-bus devices to work.

Both receivers support external button.

Letter at the end of the part number for the receiver is irrelevant.

Compatibility between keyfob and receiver is covered in the video.

Keyfob is not required to setup a button on the dash.
Button must be momentary.
