Sliding-window leak

Woke up this morning and after the heavy rain last night I have found a puddle of water on the steps of BOTH my sliding doors. So not just 1 window leaking but 2!
Not happy as you would have thought they had solved this issue by now.
Does anyone have any pics showing how to access the drainage holes as I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack but would rather try a self fix before returning it to the dealer.

As far as I am aware they are visible when window is open? I had this as had never used my side windows. Whilst I was away in the Peaks my friends sat in the back and kept opening and closing the windows and no leak!?! The big test will be this morning as we had horrendous rain last night but let's see. I will keep you posted.
Oh and one more thing, my sliding door window was the only one that appeared to leak and I can't help but think that the action of physically opening the door causes any rain caught in the gutter that hasn't gone down the drain hole properly to 'jump' out as you pull the door open.

@Buggirl . I thought it could be caused when I opened the door but mine has twin side doors so I leant over and there is a puddle in the footwell of the other door and I hadn't opened that one.
Our T6 is well and truly into service now having been in France for almost five weeks and I haven't yet seen any sign of a leak from the left window (we have had some heavy rain recently). I can't say about the right one as the bottom of it is covered by the kitchen fittings, I'll have a look when I next have reason to lift the sink/hob.
This is our fourth T5/T6 and is the first not to have leaking sliding windows even after dealer changed out units.
I'm not holding my breath mind!

Seems like I have had a similar set of occurrences over night. Front passenger step full of water, kombi windows leaking, and when lifted up the tailgate, water starts coming out through the trimmed cover panel. Pulled the four black plugs out of the bottom of the tailgate in order to drain it. Gonna have to strip it all back to figure it out. Guessing it can only be getting in through the hi level brake light. Not sure what the hell is causing the front door issue though!
Hopefully if weather is better tomorrow will be stripping out the front door and kombi windows.

I am having a bit of a nightmare with my leaking Komi window. My Komi was converted to a full camper with sink hob fridge etc about a year ago. I have never noticed any form of water leak from the sliding windows, but a couple of weeks ago noticed that the worktop laminate was bubbling up behind the sink unit adjacent to the sliding window opening. We are pretty good at keeping everything dry and clean so it was a bit of a mystery. The converters soon diagnosed that the window was leaking not only at the sliding seal but also where the frame was bonded to the vehicle; water literally pouring in below the level of the worktop and fortunately draining down and out of the fridge floor vent.
Took it straight to VW dealer who agreed that the widow drains are rubbish and about 1 in every 200 leak badly. However because they have to video the point of water ingress and send it to VW, the kitchen had to be removed and the window exposed. Another trip to the converter to rip it all out, then back to the dealer.....
They leak tested again and confirmed that its literally pouring through where the window is bonded to the vehicle. I am having a new window fitted under warranty tomorrow and then the nightmare of having to get VW to pay for the damage caused ( they have already said they will foot the bill on the phone!). However it will probably take a couple of months to get it booked in and sorted with all the converter's other work.
So if you have a camper conversion or anything close to the window, please check to make sure yours is not leaking also!

Best way to fix is put some silicone grease on the rubbers ,one of mine leaked after a few weeks old .so the drain holes weren't blocked .vw changed one on my old kombi ,it still leakedThis is an oldish thread but guess what... both of my sliders are leaking. Preparing to tackle dealer with a number of warranty issues including this!
Yes, that temporarily stops water entering the runner channel but it doesn't solve the problem of what happens to water when it does get into the slide channel. The fault is that the drains are often not assembled (bonded together) properly and run the water inside the vehicle instead of out under the edge of the glass.

I have a leak on both my sliding windows. There's the dreaded pool in the corner on the floor directly below the front corner. Did some checks this evening and the corner drains are clear but there is no way they are big enough to allow any amount of water to flow freely out of them. I've blown both sides through with an instrument airline and they are all clear.
I closed the window and poured a bottle of water over the vertical seam near the back end and the water was flooding in through the bottom of the slider frame. It pours over the narrow trough with the drain holes in and it is impossible for the water to drain quick enough so it overflows into the cab and down the door panel.
I then dried the seals and glass and smeared silicone grease up the length of the seal and closed the window. I expected to see the grease transfer onto the glass, but, it doesn't touch the glass so there is no doubt the water if just running in freely.
I'm going to book it in for a warranty check and see what they come up with. I have sellotaped the seams up for now on both windows otherwise I'm going to end up with a van full of water and saturated mats.
I'll post an update after the visit.

Van in for first inspection today. sliding windows tested by VW - confirmed as leaking . Two new replacement windows on order - due to be fitted next week! Winner 
. Will be more VW OEM windows so no doubt will leak again in future. Wont be fitted by VW Techs, will be fitted by automotive glazing specialist!
