First French trip, best location weather wise in September?

Camping Du Vivier Aux Carpes? I was on exactly the same pitch a few weeks ago. Great site for a stop over and the owner Alexandra speaks excellent english.
Yes it was. TBH wasn't that impressed with the site. Was very popular so maybe we've just been spoiled but it's not a place we'd return.

Just checked the GBP conversion rate and it works out to £38 per night for 3 adults and a dog. For that you get a super size pitch, access to the pool, site bar, restaurant, snack bar, wifi and a shed. Bargain.

Did you look into getting an EU pet passport for future trips? That AHC seems incredibly expensive.

Sadly extremely unlikely to get one unless you live in the EU. The costs I could live with it was per year say but its for every trip. Planning on going twice next year so will be double the cost.

Nice write up. We go to Europe 3-4 times a year. We have a Halifax Clarity card that we use exclusively for foreign trips. No transaction fees & a great exchange rate. The beauty is, that when the statement comes it’s purely the holiday, so we can see exactly what we’ve spent.
Try Green flag for your breakdown cover, we got ours for around £160 with full euro cover AND the boat/trailer. The RAC were the dearest when we were looking, including the Camping Club “Arrival” package.
Have a look at Portugal for your next trip, you won’t be disappointed.

You need a French address (either holiday home or someone willing to let you use their address) to get the dog's chip on the French database, once it's on there you can get a French passport and the cost drops to about 50 Euro a round trip, just for the tapeworm tablet for UK return. Some French vets are more flexible than others.
We go to France 3-4 times a year, staying for the full 180 days and the dogs' passport is linked to our holiday home address in the Alps. Saves a fortune .

Yes have read this. Problem is finding a vet willing to do it.
