External 240v hook-up options?

@dhardyuk is that Magcode a magnetic 12v connector? Looks interesting
They do 2 types in 12V, 15A and 25A. They also do 24V which I think has the magnets reversed to dissuade wrong plugging.

They are made by Rosenberger and then oem’d by other brands, notably Battery Controller in Italy (for motorbikes mainly) and then by some of the charger manufacturers.

The socket only goes live when the mating plug magnetically snaps on.

£17 for the socket from Amazon

£42 for a premade Victron Powerclip

You can get 2 of these for £7.50 shipping = £22.62, cheaper than these guys are selling a pair of them for on eBay …..

Plenty of other suppliers so you can tease out the best price by mixing and matching …….

I’m going to fit a couple more on the inside of the van for the fridge/cold box and make up a couple of Anderson to Magcode cables - these disconnect when you tug them so less trip hazards and that.

Got the Wylex unit and RCBO's now - what are people using for the cable glands? Nothing came with it and it has zero entry points.

I like the little wylex enclosure , very neat .
I'm also thinking our van electrics need some serious sorting .

just to wrap this up (for me)

I've decided to go with:

1x wylex 3mod IP65 CU
2x wylex 16A RCBO DP A/B Mini
1x wylex blank kit.

use case:

3kva victron inverter, 240v out to CU,
1x 16A RCBO for internal 3pin sockets (3x dble skts)
1x 16A RCBO for external 3pin outlet. (for ext EHU to awning)

all run in 2.5mm2 Blue arctik cable

+++++++++++++++

my 240vac IN will be a Victron IP65 25A charger with a EXT 240v EHU socket - 12v out wired to LB side 12v system for charging.

no 240v in or pass through

no transfer switches

Do you have a diagram of how to wire up the RCB's?

Just been running the cable in from under the bonnet. Ordered a few more bits to finish it off.

Went with a grommet on the drivers side which comes out just above floor level.

@roadtripper. I always tie a short length of orange cable to the steering wheel to jog my memory.
