Hi, do you think a retrofit like this would be possible on the T6.1 as well?
 
I didn't investigate this deeply to be honest.

FollowToStop and Stop&Go are types of ACC functionality embedded in the radar as a SWAP code(aka FEC).
Follow To Stop allows to keep ACC activate after performing full stop only for few seconds while Stop&Go supposedly keeps ACC active with no time limit.

To get Autohold functionality on a T6.1, EPB has to be introduced to vehicle CAN-BUS network.
This is quite popular exercise on a PQ35 platform with MK60EC1 ABS by adding 56D EPB controller(the only one as a stand alone unit on PQ platform).
I am not aware of any stand alone MQB EPB controllers (happy to be corrected) so it seems that the only way is to introduce the EPB emulator on the T6.1 CAN-BUS.
I am not even considering ABS retrofit from any other MQB vehicle as I can't see anything being suitable (from the safety perspective).

As an example NAR Golf MK7 is a MQB vehicle and it uses manual parking brake as opposed to the ROW Golf MK7 with EPB.
Some people in America do retrofit EPB by replacing ABS unit and using European version instead.

Summarising, to have the maximum "convenience" experience from OEM VW "AI systems" the following are required: EPB, ABS with AUTOHOLD and STOP&GO ACC.

The mechanical components have now also been installed. The following parts were replaced:

- Mudguard

- Brake disc 282x12

- Brake shoes (ensure suitability for EPB)

- Caliper bracket

- Caliper

I didn't want internally ventilated discs, and the 282 mm (11") ones were the only ones I could code in #03 (1K0907379CC) in combination with the existing front brakes.

In the above combination, the brake corresponds to the PR-1KW of a Passat B6/B7.

Conveniently, the same PR-1KW with a caliper for the mechanical handbrake was also standard in my Eos, so I have a quiet hope that the fuss with the TÜV will be easier.

Now all I need is a decent wiring harness with cables of the right length.

I am now looking for an inexpensive connector so that I can make a new, suitable wiring harness without having to interrupt EPB operation.

When everything is finished, I will post a few photos.

So far, I am very excited about the conversion.

I wonder if B is "more compatible" with newer other hardware. I'm not absolutely sure, but I think, since EPB is electrically in the car, my 2q0 RCTA radars have a fault with a missing message.

Hmmm, I got stuck im PQ36/46.
Maybe you can retrofit EPB by changing the ABS/ESP Module, as on MQB the EPB is part of it. But, don't forget, that there's no parameter set for T6.1 build in, so ESP will never work properly. So the exchange will end in a lack of security.
 
A few days before my Eos went into hibernation, the project was completed except for a few minor details. The EPB control unit has been moved from the floor behind the driver's seat to its final location, and a newly manufactured wiring harness now fits like a glove. The settings for the electronic parking brake were made in the EEPROM of the cluster so that the red indicator light is also controlled correctly. Unfortunately, the yellow warning light in the cluster is not yet working properly. I retrofitted the LED (see pictures below) and the two resistors, but it cannot be controlled via actuator diagnostics. Something is still missing in the EEPROM.

Im currently planning on doing this conversion to my 2011 Vw Transporter T5.1
I can find the calipers and switch no problem but the 56D module is just impossible to find second hand.
Did anyone ever try a differant module? Like for example a 2011 Audi A6 4F0907801A? This is an identical part number except for the first 3 vehicle ID digits
 
Hello! I recently installed the EPB with 56D module in my VW Jetta MK5. My car is using an 02E DQ250 dual-clutch transmission. It seems that when the vehicle stops at a traffic light with the autohold function active, the clutch keeps trying to engage. It seems the transmission doesn't know that autohold is active. Has anyone else experienced this situation?
 
What I know, dsg need to ne adapt for new confirgiration. For exampl dsg fron Passat can be use in other car, but is with epb error, need run function lear to "tell" is NO EPB
 
My EPB module isn't showing any errors, however, it seems the DSG transmission doesn't know that the autohold is active; it engages and tries to move the car. I don't know if the information should come from the ABS module or the EPB module. Any information that could help me would be appreciated.
