EPB Retrofit ... the way to Stop & Go

So with ACC and DSG in the T6 we have the FollowToStop capability.
But i wont more, i wont to have "Stop and Go" like it is available in the VW Sharan PQ35 which is very likely like the T6 which is PQ25.
Needles to say we need Auto-Hold and EPB to get Stop & Go capability.

T6 ABS is a complete different one than the one in Sharan.
But changing to Sharan ABS is no good idea because the internal Settings for ESP which are cricial relevant for safety, from the Sharan for shure are no fit for the T6.

So we need to get EPB added and get Authold enabled in ABS.
I have no clue if that is possible, but i started.

Elektronic part of EPB is working, together with an EPB Aktor simulation.
EPB is Number 53, which is not possible to enable in T6 Gateway, but still you can install it on Engine Can-Bus and it works.
Than you can enable EPB in ACC Coding without getting an error about missing EPB.
In DSG you can see that EPB now talks to DSG, no error, too.

Electricaly it looks good, no errors.

I did two Videos to show the very little difference in Car behaviour when doing FTS now.

The one available standalone EPB is the one from Passat B6/B7, 3AA907901H
but that one uses an additional communication-line to ABS, which we don't have, so that one i was not able to get running.

Mechanical Part is now the Question:
Audi A4/S4 rear Brake with 300x22mm Disk is probably a good fit for the T6 294x22mm Disks

Need to check how this can be mounted on the T6 ...

Getting AutoHold enabled in the T6 Mk100 ABS is the next probably impossible task to accomplish ....

By having EPB onboard the stopping is indicated much later.
Effectively the bus is at full stop for a fraction of a second.
This looks like definitely the right direction for a proper STOP&GO ACC!

I was wondering if Sharan 7N was any good
but after checking ETKA the rear brakes are too small.

Sharan 2010 uses 282X12 discs
Sharan 2016 uses 300X12 discs

I now have
4G0 615 403 A and 4G0 615 404 A

Theese ones are fitting the T5/T6 Brake Holder, when using additional nut as spacer, perfectly.
And they bring enoth room (60mm) for the Disk + brake lining.
57 mm is the minimum needed space (17,5 mm + 22 mm + 17,5 mm)

Final fit on the Bus and Brake Test are still needed, but it is cold outside and covid is out there, so probably making a break till March ...

I have done some further digging through ETKA (thanks @dnoermann for motivation )
and I found another 3 rear brake caliper housings with servomotor
that should be compatible with T5/T6.
I haven't got any of these yet so they are subject to final verification.

Difficult one. In the Audis and various other cars I've driven that have this facility it was in the middle where a handbrake would be, but without a raised centre console it would be awkward. I'd say dash, but on the left side of the wheel where visibility and access is better in case you needed it in an emergency.

EPB button is to the right of the steering wheel in a Passat B6. I'm used to it in that position now but if you haven't ever used one then you can place it in your position of choice.
