AT6 OYEH! Reflex Silver T6 SWB Kombi with added ABT

Big thing for me is that they are a direct fit - no remembering where I’ve put the special bolts, no tuner nuts, no spigot rings.

I did talk to Jason/Absolut5 about having one of these fitted and I will readily admit that I just didn’t fancy the 4.5 hour round trip at the moment and a bloke came round the house and fitted it.
If I’d have been braver with the drill, I’d have done it myself as the back end of the roof liner is held in with 6 screws and the cable just went through with the nylon tape, but you live and learn. Plus I can’t sue myself when I cut a hole in the wrong place.

I don’t think this type of aerial would like right at the front, but if there was a T6.1 style that did DAB, I’d have considered that as an alternative.
Anyway - it doesn’t matter, for the first time in 2 years I have enjoyed DAB without a drop out on the way to work.

Typical innit…?

I think that made them particularly cheap. They allegedly RRP around £1,200 but I have never seen them listed at that price - they come up anywhere between £640 and £699.
Proportionately, I think I’ve got a better deal on the Supermetals.

Agreed - especially as those are 5x112 so wont fit the transporter.

I didn’t even twig that - it must be an automated offer from viewing one of their listings. They also sell the 5x120 version at the same price so I expect the offer would still stand

Out of interest, what tyres are going on the Supermetal 20's?

I was sure I’d posted about the tyres, but it must have been in the Wanted thread I started when I was looking for tyres.

I’ve gone a set of Giti Control P10
I was going to use some Nankang AS 2+ 245/45 R20 103 and was just about to pull the trigger when I thought I’d check a local tyre dealer and saw the Giti. It’s a brand I’ve heard of, know they were major sponsors of truck racing so I looked for some test results and reviews and found this - 2023 APAC Tyre Test - Tyre Reviews And Ratings

I like premium tyres and I always have tended to use them on the cars - going back nearly 10 years I ran Dunlops on my Altea, my A4 pretty much exclusively had Pilot Sport 4 or 4S, my A6 had Bridgestone S001s and my current Octavia vRS is on Pilot sport 5s.
I’ve got a Corrado which has Hankook V12s or Kumho Ecsta depending on which wheels it’s on and the Clio Sport has Nankang NS2R, but those two cars do a couple of thousand miles a year between them.

When I bought the T6 it was on Nexen N-Fera SU1 - 275/40 R20 106. They wore really well - evenly and at a reasonable rate, were quiet and seemed to drive well, so I went for some SU4 when I went down to 245/45 R20 103.

Not that I’m a convert to midrange or cheap Chinese/Koren tyres, but I like to try these things out. Plus a set of 19s on my Octavia is around £700…
The Nexen SU4 cost a shade under £500 for the set and the Giti work out to £483.

I noticed recently that the light switch casing had a crack in it. I think I’d noticed it before and then forgot about it, but I didn’t realise how prominent it was. I must’ve whacked it with my knee when getting into the van at some point.

I plan on replacing the switches for the chrome tipped ones, so thought I’d start with the light switch.

I’m not paying £120 or whatever they are for a new one. I found this on eBay for £15 delivered - it was listed as coming out of a B7 Audi A4

It’s only with it fitted and illuminated that I’ve noticed the scratch across the 0 position marker, but I can’t say I’m all that bothered tbh.

Couldn't tell you - nobody seems to post the weights of these in the spec pages on any websites (as far as I can tell)

These recessed bits are going to be a right pain to apply all the ceramic coating onto aren't they....?

Tbf once I had looked for the 6P and didn't find a weight listed, then I didn't bother checking the Supermetal, but 16kg isn't bad for a big 20" wheel
I've had OEM 18s that weighed nearly 14kg

Since being obsessed with 20" detroit steels I've been super aware of the weight of some of these rims .

I just hope I've applied it properly, but thought it best to get done before tyres.

Wheels - considering they are just a bit of a car or van - can be a ridiculously personal thing.

I've never liked dished or staggered wheels, I don't know why. I think you need to be really low to pull them off and you either like it all tucked or with a bit of poke. I'm firmly in the tucked camp, but moreso the direct-fit-without-spigot-rings-could-they-have-been-a-factory-wheel camp?

Couldn’t agree more that wheels are personal, and what a boring world if everyone liked the same.

I probably would have clicked buy on the wheels in the pic below, but I don’t like the word LEIGHTON in big letters down one of the spokes. IMG_3774.jpeg

Look forward to the pics of yours when fitted. I might end up with a set yet lol.

I was going to do a count up of all of the sets of wheels I’ve owned over the years. But then I decided that was probably quite boring and didn’t bother. And anyway - somebody will look at it and go “is that all?!”

Supermetals on.

I think it’s another one of those wheels that need a tiny tyre and a massive ride height drop to have the right impact. These are (again) 245/45 R20 because they come in 103. There is a 20mm difference in sidewall between these and a 255/35 and if you want load rated 255s they’re made by somebody I’ve never heard of
