What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Not very exciting but my first ‘mod’. Fitted the Climair smoked wind deflectors this morning before I go to work. Look really nice and pretty easy to fit once you know how. Instructions provided weren’t that clear so a quick search on YouTube and jobs a good un!

Whats the quality of the GTT like ?
It a leighton LV-R bumper i eventually went for and I've got to say I'm really impressed. There was only 2 minutes of fetling and it was ready for prep. The presentation was not that good for such an expensive part though. Would have thought it would be boxed up and not just in a clear bag, but still there was no damage so can't really complain.

Can't believe it doesn't come better packaged than just a bag ! Like you say especially at the price .
Must cost them a few quid in replacing damaged items .
Did you go and collect it? Wonder if it be packaged different if it was shipped via courier

I’ve committed to spending the money (and then some) that we’d saved to get the wheels painted on getting the EGR replaced. The part alone is nearly £700.00😕. I’m consoling myself with the fact that the van is 10 years old and has 70k on the clock. If I get another 10 years without any more EGR issues it’ll be worth the pain. The EGR was causing an engine fault light to come on - I don’t like driving with warning lights on and we’re off to Scotland next week. I want some peace of mind.

Avon remap done, to bring up the mighty 102bhp to 143bhp. Kept it under what they could achieve to look after the gearbox (5 speed).

They also told me a rear spring had broken, so now I've got the dilemma of replace as standard or go lower etc.

I have my van back. Not as painful as I thought. The £678.60 I was quoted was for the whole job, parts and labour. The wheels will still have to wait, but not for as long as they otherwise might have done. 🤔😃

Fitted these:

Very nice, cant wait to see it. Do you have your won body shop or someone painting it for you?
No unfortunately i work for a main stream bodyshop. That ship has sailed as I'm to old to start up now. I'm a paint sprayer and when needed a panel beater to help out so I'm lucky that I can do this stuff for free. I can't wait either but had to leave it till tomorrow as there are 58 I think plastic welds to do. So I've ordered some star washers instead just incase I want to change things up later and I don't have to grind all the welds off. (Forward planning for once. Not my idea!) Here's a quick mock up

Thinking of doing the same… hate driving with the warning light on etc etc!
It’s been a bit better last few months due to using additives alongside premium fuels and staying in 5th on the motorway (ie not 6th) - but not sure it’s a sustainable solution!
Where did you get yours done?

Nice work... 30mm spacers on those rear Devonports though hehe (and 20's on the front )

Yep looks much better with spacers , considered these many times but i'm gagging to swap the wheels again anyway so i'll save the money from spacers and spend it on new wheels
(If I can ever make my mind up which ones to buy)

Glad the vans sorted for the trip, we will be a week behind you, have you booked anywhere yet or still planning a couple of days at a time

At a local independent garage here in Swindon - Dellers Garage. The two mechanics both drive a transporter. When they put the diagnostics computer back on it this morning the EGR fault had come back but the warning light hadn’t come on. The new EGR should get a good run in next week with a 1000 mile round trip to Kenmore in Scotland.

Yes, we’re booked into the Kenmore Club for 7 nights. We’d planned to go on from there and take two weeks to do the NC500 but sadly we’ve had to postpone that due to work pressures.

Shame about the work pressure, just make sure you enjoy the week you have

Changed cabin filter and air filter. Removed passenger seat and swivel to tidy up cables etc under the seat, and also to make more room for installing passenger side retrimmed B Pillars, now complete and passenger seat and swivel installed.
B4 anyone asks for photos (Bav), I will post photos of the completed B Pillar trims when all complete, hopefully Monday.
