What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

What do you mean? Setting for what?

So did I, and why I'm a. bit puzzled.
That SB trace looks odd! I was talking about the setting you used on the AMT.
I left mine on the default setting 4.
Looks like your SB is going down to 11.5v?
(Could be my eyes?!)

To be honest, I'm not sure the setting, mine was replaced and set up by Jonathan at Ablemail (I live a few miles away.)

Here's a yesterday's screenshot of my batteries behaviour, the bottom green line is the SB, held steady by the AMT at close to or around 12.3v.

Hmmm I think I might have a problem with the AMT.

That looks a lot more normal than the shunt data from earlier. The SB will have a gradual decline over a day with the various parasitical loads attached to it, the AMT won't make its presence felt until the SB voltage is under 12.3v. Use your Lamborghini instead of the van today and let's see what the plots look like at 9pm.

This is a useful view from the Cerbo, you can clearly see when I opened the van earlier to retrieve a special pair of pliers, and the AMT recovered things after the voltage drop.

Lamborghini :fast rofl:

Unfortunately a bit out of my league. I can only afford 2 wheels on my second mode of transport.

I have the luxury after my scooter with an engine commuter, of being able to use our babies Fiat 500 in a wine/plum colour before she passes her test, and with Uni shortly I reckon I'll be OK for a couple of years! Vaguely embarrassing with L plates on it though!

Absolut5 review

I know there’s a long history on the forum of the great work and advice that Jason’s offered to members over the years, but it’s good to see and hear current reviews, so here’s mine.

My T6 Kombi day van conversion.

After sourcing the right vehicle and getting a few mechanical issues sorted, I had a good idea what I wanted from the interior and it was just about finding the right place to get the work done.

With much consideration and visits to other providers for ideas and quotes I decided to use Absolut5 to convert my T6 interior from commercial van to a Kombi and I’m so glad I did.

I first used one of Jason’s under-seat subs in my old T5 probably a decade or more ago, so I knew the sound system would be installed very well on the new project.
After seeing their work on the forums and the reviews from other users I was sure I was good hands.
Jason, Jennie and Noel worked tirelessly to ensure a perfect finish was achieved, making sure to use genuine parts where possible and safety being paramount.
Kombi flooring, using quick release seats in the rear, sound deadened, insulated, lined, re wired, heater installed, windows fitted, blinds, alpine halo, steering wheel integration, JL speakers, JL amps under seat.
These guys are so knowledgable on our vans and easy to talk to throughout the process.
When I picked my van up I was very happy with the result and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Many thanks and hope to deal with you again one day.
Chris

Oh wait, I think I have read the guide wrong, setting 4 is for a smart alternator and lead acid batteries, setting 2 is for lithium batteries. I think that is meant to relate to the SB not the leisure battery. I may have set mine up wrong.

Removed headlining and door cards / carriers to add some insulation and sound deadening. Made good use of the various threads and guides on here but when putting it all back, didn't quite line up the headliner on the pax side and managed to strip the threads of the grab handle. :(

The battery type refers to the leisure battery. For a T6 you want setting 3 or 4 depending on your LB type. Or settings 7 or 8 if you have high parasitic loads.

I’m using setting 3 and it works great, but many others have left it in setting 4 with a lithium LB and get good results too.

I have a 2016 T6 Kombi T32 converted with a new leisure electrics install which includes a Fogstar 230ah seat base battery and a standard starter battery that might need replacing before too long - the Ablemail when working should keep it going for longer as it will help maintain a good operating voltage.
Is setting 2 wrong that I currently have it set at?

Assuming you have a smart alternator on a 2016 (I believe it should!) then ideally it should be in setting 3/7 (or 4 as noted previously). It will still work in setting 2 just not ideally.
