What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I’ve checked the victron shunt reading and the starter battery with a multimeter and they are the same. I guess maybe I’ll find out if it’s working at the spring break if I’m parked up for the weekend with all the coming and going. If the starter battery doesn’t die (like it did at he summer camp last year) then I’ll know that the AMT is doing its thing.
That’s good that they are the same so removes that potential issue. Worth checking the voltages at SB and AMT too so you know they are the same. However, your SB is seriously low and risks being damaged. I’d get a mains charger on it and make sure it will take and hold a charge. Then see how the AMT works after that.

When my SB went low after I spent a few days changing my LB and sorting the cerbo the AMT didn't fire up. Just enough in the SB (11.2v) to start the engine (low voltage warning message on dash). When the voltage went low next time the AMT kicked in happily.

I’ve been told I’ll need a new SB. I’m hoping not to have to spend that money yet. I don’t have a mains charger, I had a really good one but I loaned it to someone and that was the last I’ve seen of it. I’ll have to decide whether to buy a new charger or suck it up and buy a new battery. 🤔

If you make it to the gathering on Friday, I've got one you can borrow, obviously not my good one! Give it back at summer/Bala/Autumn...

Absolut5 review

I know there’s a long history on the forum of the great work and advice that Jason’s offered to members over the years, but it’s good to see and hear current reviews, so here’s mine.

My T6 Kombi day van conversion.

After sourcing the right vehicle and getting a few mechanical issues sorted, I had a good idea what I wanted from the interior and it was just about finding the right place to get the work done.

With much consideration and visits to other providers for ideas and quotes I decided to use Absolut5 to convert my T6 interior from commercial van to a Kombi and I’m so glad I did.

I first used one of Jason’s under-seat subs in my old T5 probably a decade or more ago, so I knew the sound system would be installed very well on the new project.
After seeing their work on the forums and the reviews from other users I was sure I was good hands.
Jason, Jennie and Noel worked tirelessly to ensure a perfect finish was achieved, making sure to use genuine parts where possible and safety being paramount.
Kombi flooring, using quick release seats in the rear, sound deadened, insulated, lined, re wired, heater installed, windows fitted, blinds, alpine halo, steering wheel integration, JL speakers, JL amps under seat.
These guys are so knowledgable on our vans and easy to talk to throughout the process.
When I picked my van up I was very happy with the result and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Many thanks and hope to deal with you again one day.
Chris

Hi Chris

Many thanks for the in-depth feedback,

It was a great pleasure in what was quite a complicated removal and reinstall, which did take slightly longer to do, but the end result was worth it

Speak again even if it’s about the old skool bikes/cars.

I like the idea of a central storage box Snoopi  how is it fixed in place ?
For us the walk through is essential so maybe I could make a removable version ? 🤔

It's not fixed as yet, it's a snug fit and a combination of the carpet in the rear, the handbrake gaitor and the captain's seat swivel release lever keep it where it should be. The rear panel is shaped to fit between the two panels on the rear of the front seats.
The idea was to use a couple of screws through the rear panel into the seat base, but on reflection, I might use thumb turns instead as it's a bit of wiggle to get it in place and the securing of it might not need to be very substantial.
