VCDS And Carista Fault Codes

I noticed with Carista that it resorts to google to search the fault codes and ironically we seem to get most of the search results pointing at this forum but the codes are just appearing in conversations mentioning those codes so I thought we should create a topic and list the common ones as they come up and collate information about the code with any details we can crib together.

I’ll make a start with a couple and others can add theirs and see how it goes.

17668 - Diesel Particulate Filter; Differential Pressure Sensor
P2456 00 [100]

32855 - Differential Pressure Sensor for DPF
P154B 00 [175] - Faulty

MiL light on

Notes:
Faulty DPF pressure sensor causes an incorrect ash reading that prevents regeneration from happening. This will eventually lead to limp mode.
Replace and adapt a new sensor asap.

15560 - EGR Sensor 1
P046C 00 [039] - Implausible Signal

This is a software issue in the ECU not a fault with the EGR the ecu has received a value it was not expecting VW advise to ignore/clear. May get fixed with a future software update.

10644 - Selector Lever
P0919 00 [044] - Malfunction

Gearbox module logged this whilst manually shifting from drive to sport during an overtake, caused ABS fault light and stopped ACC from working until it was cleared.

Address 13: Auto Dist. Reg (J428)

1043 - Automatic Distance Control
Fault Code B10E7 F0 [008]

ACC unit was disabled due to an error on another module or data bus.

ABS 00397 - was a front left wheel puncture. (puncture repaired and fault cleared down)

IMMOBILISER 9456128 - was the Ghost imob blocking the engine start (tried starting without putting code in). (code clears down fine)

Battery Regulator 02256 – quiescent current - Battery monitor detecting power drain from starter battery (about above 50mA) (left the Carista plugged in obd2 PORT overnight)

Address 25: Immobilizer (J334)

9456128 - Engine Control Module (ECM) not authorized
B104A

The Immobilizer has been blocked and is active(preventing the vehicle from starting) this can appear if you have an additional Immobilizer fitter like an Autowatch Ghost.
Even after the vehicle has been enabled and runs the code will persist.

the ECM does not think your NOx reduction system is working the way it should, too much NOx is being detected.

rear door lock carrier replaced by VW.
