T6 LWB T30 140 Acapulco blue - Build Thread

I’ve also had the new rear bumper colour matched and fitted. Still to fit the new reverse parking sensors. Will post some pics asap

Bit of a thread revival on my build thread here. I’ve now been using the van for 8 years. Some things have changed from the latest photos here and over that time I’ve found things I would maybe have done differently etc so will detail that here soon in case it’s of use to others.

Upcoming mods -

- Full LED headlights from THQ (should be available December 25)
- 6.1 style rear led lights from THQ in smoke colour
- smoked upper barn door brake lights and bumper reflectors
- Matt black badges front and back
- replacement roof trim panel due to my first one failing (more on that later)
- clay bar and machine polish (currently researching how to do this as want to do this myself and bring things back to the way it was at the start)
- sprung pop top bed retrofit
- new seals to pop top (getting a wind noise issue - more on that later too)
- new wheel speed sensors all round to clear a dash light
- re-affix the end pieces of my awning rail as they detached
- fit my new wind deflectors
- investigate a slide out shelf from the rear under my seats
- remove the rear upper cubby box from my furniture as I don’t use it and it reduces the head height when sleeping on the RIB
- fix the creaking/vibration from the front upper cubby box above the rear view mirror

Think that’s everything, busy few weeks ahead. I’ll document here as I go

OK some progress made thanks for THQ and the next day delivery! Went for the rear LED T6.1 style in smoke and also picked up the upper brake lights in smoke too. Got smoked reflectors from an amazon seller to finish it off. All in all 20 mins to swap everything over. Excuse the dirt on the van, just back from a week away.

I used photoshop here to remove the transporter badge and the badges on the right hand side. Also used it to remove the LPG sticker. Just wanted to see what it would look like.

I've got a matt black VW badge on route too.

What do you guys think? De-badge or add a matt black transporter badge back on?

So had big plans for progress yesterday then a hangover put stop to that but I did manage to get the de-badging done and the black badge fitted last night.

Happy with the results - the back end just looks so much cleaner now, I should have done this earlier

I also added matt black vinyl to the chrome bits of my caravelle grille today. It's not 100% perfect but I didn't have time to strip the bumper and remove the trim pieces. I may revisit if it annoys me. If you aren't looking close up they look fine.

I really liked the Caravelle grille when I upgraded to the highline bumper but I've gone off the chrome now.

Also - I know the chrome trim continues into the light unit but I'm not bothered about that as my front lights are going to be replaced with full LED units once THQ has stock of their new model.

I have a matt black VW badge on route.
