T6.1 LWB 4Motion silver high top. The build commences!

I am going to keep an eye on this build. Really interested in doing similar in a couple years once I dont need a van as a second family car, plus whilst my old 5.1 Caravelle is amazing to drive, its just too old for a longterm ownership/conversion I feel. Good luck

Xmas present for the van. New windows from Camper Glass! Being fitted w/c 5th Jan.

1 x Safari window offside drivers

1x Sliding door fixed window

2 x LWB rear quarter fakes

2 x extra high barn door windows ( for high top only )

Looking forward to getting these fitted!

Considering a Maxxair fan in the roof so need to discuss that with the installer.

Once that is sorted I can timber frame and insulate the high top section and fit panels

Then it's carpet time! Dreading that....
I have an old Lancia out on the drive under cover until I get my garage freed up. Is that just a heater, is it helping to keep condensation down, what is it?

It's a small Dimplex plug in radiator ( no oil ) that we have used in the vans for years. We like it because it is much lighter and no danger of oil spilling.

I had it on while working in the van as it was freezing but also needed the keep the temp up for the insulation fitting etc.

More bits done / fitted at the excellent AJC Conversions in Glossop.

Fiamma awning ( glad I got the internal timber bracing in the right place! )

Skylight for a bit of extra light and ventilation )

Bench also now gone to a new home so I can re-fit the passenger Captain seat and safe base

I can also finish the roof insulation with fleece etc before the ply panels.

Oak floor next and maybe solar panel on roof as soon if it warms up.

Passenger seat fixed. New seat adjuster fitted and now the seat actually stays in position with the locking pins.

Refitted onto Clearcut Conversion lowered swivel safe base

Also started making and fitting the interior panels. Used hidden fixings from THQ ( Tip: use thick gloves! ).

The panels are clad with Milan fabric from Harrisons.( The version with a backing so have a nice slightly padded feel.).

Upper panels to roof will have the same fabric. Also got to fit a tricky piece on the "arch" over the front seats / ca

And finally a trip up to Scotland for a few days to visit The Ply Guys and have the Argyll bed platform and drawer fitted

The Ply Guys are my absolute heroes, I have always wanted something made by them in a van.

Pull out footboard section is also a handy table!

With the cushions becomes a king size bed 1.5m x 1.9m.

Love the grey / black genuine Harris tweed upholstery. Matches the grey fabric panels nicely ( as planned...)

Made the upper side panels ready for fitting and templated above the cab for the hexa board panel.

Note a pair of The Ply Guys "Cowabunga" bungee storage racks to fit on the higher side panels above the bed.

Also buried under stuff is the Vangear X-pod and the hexa bench still to build !

Fitted the high level Ply Guy's bungee storage to both sides and built and customised the Hexa bench that sits in front of the bed platform.

Loads of storage under the lift up lid as it also extends back into the garage up to the pull out drawer

It is designed so the 2 x bed "footrest" cushions can also be used on it. Added some bungee storage to the front for magazines / slippers etc.

Next jobs:

Adding a 300mm deep hexa shelf storage section behind the bench ( in the garage void under the bed behind the pull out drawer )

Making a base and frame to sit the Aferiy power pack and extra battery on between the bed and Vangear pod.

Make a hexa front for the over cab area.

Fit timber rails to the roof for the ceiling panels and wire in the 2 x ceiling lights. Fit the ceiling panels and skylight surround

More wiring: connect fridge, extend the induction hob feed, wire in the 2 x uplighters. Connect everything to the fuse board and the power pack.

Fit the solar panel to the roof and connect solar to the power pack.

It never ends!!
