T6.1 headlight switch - warns when sidelights left on

I have a question around the audio beep when leaving lights on in a t6.1. It’s a startline without auto lights.

I have noticed that if I leave my side lights on take key out of and open the door it beeps to warn me I have left the lights on. But if the switch is set to full headlights and I open the door it doesn’t ping.

Seems a bit odd to me and I’m worried I’ll forget to turn them and come out to a flat battery. Can anyone else confirm if their t6.1 has the same behaviour or should I be getting vw to look at it?

If you leave it on main headlights, when you turn the ignition off it turns the lights off.
If you leave it on the sidelights, when you turn the ignition off they’ll stay on. That’s why it beeps.

I tend to leave them set to On over the winter months as always better to have lights on.

Just another reason I should have gone Highline! Haha
