I started my winter project today on my 76 Bonnie I drained the gearbox oil and fitted a new indent plunger with a ball bearing on the end to make gear
changes and finding neutral easier.
Next was to remove the rust from under my rear mudguard and to clean and lubricate the drive chain which had rusted even though I gave it a good chain lubing the last time I ran the bike in March 23 when it broke down with burnt out dual coil.
I wire brushed the rear mudguard and gave it a good coating of black waxoil, but I’ve decided to fit a new chain even though I cleaned and lubricated the old one, so I have that on order and can’t do any more until it arrives.
When I last used the bike I gave it a good wash and polish but the mudguards must have had road salt stuck beneath them, any way just got to give the old girl an oil and filter Change, fit the rear wheel and silencers back and she’ll be as good as new.

Virtually finished the Bonneville just got to clean the wheels and give the cast iron barrels a coat of cylinder black then she’s ready for a road test when the weather gets better and no more road salt.

My 2 Triumphs are looking really sad since I badly broke my leg in 2 places just over 2 weeks ago. Specialist says it will be months before I will be able to put my foot on the floor, or drive a vehicle.

Don't have any bikes any more but these are what I owned over a few years.

Honda CB400 Super Four Hyper VTEC. Awesome little 50bhp 400cc inline 4 Japanese import, pocket rocket, 13k red line!

Honda VFR800, 5th gen with the straight cut cam gears. Amazing V4 sound.

And my old favourite, 2009 Aprilia Tuono 1000 Factory. The last of the v twin model, 140bhp, dripping in carbon, ohlins, and forged wheels. One of only 30 or so in that particular paint scheme.

I used to commute all year round on a 125, then the CB400, then the VFR, but after I stopped riding much I sold the Tuono as the risks with the standard of driving just wasn't worth it.

I now ride another form of 2 wheeled machine, human powered and up and down mountains! Still risky but not 'risk of death' if I or another driver messes up, just some broken bones!

Couple of videos too, I miss the noise of these things! The CB400 was a rorty little thing, 0-60mph in about 5 seconds and I once had it on the autobahn, full tuck and 115mph was all it had. It did mean you could absolutely thrash it and still be within the speed limits!

And the Tuono... :inlove:

This was my Harley Davidson which I had for 11 years from new in those 11 years Pat and I travelled to France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Benidorm, Lorette Da Marr, Farro, and Montegordo in Portugal. When I part exchanged it for a Triumph Rocket 3 it still had Its original battery fitted, and the bike never let us down once.
