Thanks @mmi . After about an hour searching for the ERG pipe (long story), I suspect my engine is the 5.1 engine that was carried over into early 2016s. Looks nothing like the standard T6 engine and a lot like the 5.1. Build was Aug 16. Might explain why mine behaves differently to the OP.

Yes, correct. It's CAAC engine (been around since 2010, well proven ) - it doesn't have the failing EGR pipe.

Just to add my experiences to the mix, I have a 2019 T6 in Australia so a Euro 5 engine I think? It’s a 340NM single turbo engine.
Mine does a Regen when it reaches 24g of soot calculated or if it hits 600km since last regen. I’ve been monitoring it for a while using the Carista dongle but with the Car Scanner app on apple. It allows me to monitor all the parameters in real time as I drive, and was only about $10 for a year’s subscription. I do mostly highway miles so I have never seen the DPF light come on, the only way I know it’s doing a regen is via the app. Screen shot below of the app.

If you use ad blue you have a euro 6 engine. Euro 5 stopped early 2016.
Your build codes label should be under your steering column.
CAAC is euro 5 engine.

Mine is a CAAC engine, no AdBlue but delivered Nov 2019. I understand Aus got Euro5 engines later than anywhere else due to our lax emissions laws

Hi all
Im wondering how often everyone else's van is doing a regen? Mine does a regen around every 130 miles doing a 30 mile round trip to work, half of that is motorway. Motorway there, 'A' roads back. I've been keeping a log of it and it seems pretty consistent although it did go up to 160 miles between regens when I drove to Devon. 130 miles each way.
I keep an eye on the soot levels with my Carista and it regens when levels get to around 24 grams and takes it down to around 5.5 grams.
Im just seeing if this is normal behaviour for a T6?
