Preston VW Commercials

Started our holiday today: 10 days mountain biking and enjoying our Kombi-camper in Scotland...

Half way up the M6 and a horrible noise emanates from under the bonnet. I stop, google for somewhere to get it checked, find VW commercials is 10 miles away, and carefully drive there... (holding my breath!)

Andy Leigh dealt with us, reassured us, made no big promises but helped at every stage of the day to reassure, to get information in a timely manner, and to serve us brilliantly.

A totally collapsed water pump! Zero bearings left! - literally so much play that it had worn through its own body!) and a damaged cam-belt as a result of the amount of play that had been happening. (Don't use non-VW parts people! (this was done before I took ownership of the van!)) When I think of what could have happened...

All sorted within a matter of hours and now sitting in our awning, bed made, knackered from the days travelling and excitement ready for bed!

So moral of the story:
1) use authentic parts on your precious vans!
2) Andy Leigh - hero! - Preston VW Commercials - wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and their service to anyone.

Top guys up there, glad to hear it all worked out for you! I bought my van from there and my dad uses them for his van too

Well we waited 2 months for an appointment at our main VW commercial dealer's in Preston..Like I said above, our USB-Cs were dead. Well we went today 25.04.2024 and left our van, it was bedlam and there was no where to park, vans every where, very busy. Waited ages to find a space. Anyway it was about 9.45am and our Daughter drove us home in her car.

Got a call around 1pm saying our van was ready, ( very surprised ) they had fitted a new USB-C module and updated the infotainment centre. They also did a visual check of the van and gave us a report....

Heres some advice...We phoned the VW van centre parts department a few days before our visit and explained to the parts guy what we thought was wrong with our van, he was very understanding and said it sounds like the USB-C module and he would order one in for our visit.. We didn't want to take our van and have to go back because they didn't have the part in stock.

All back to normal and working perfect now. :)

Our all experience at Preston main VW van centre was excellent and cant recommend them enough.

Forgot to mention we had purchased a VW--USB-C premium cable before our visit, for a tidy sum of £40..:(

That’s good to know, Preston is close to me and may be my go to dealer!
Good to hear some positive news from a VW dealership!
