Latest Update from Alpha....

"The stock is on the way to us but the container has been delayed until the 24th March on arrival to UK
Give or take a few days after that for logistics and we will be ready to dispatch"

Latest on these;

"Stock is arriving Wednesday and we are aiming to get back orders out that very day and into Thursday. I would anticipate delivery by Tues/weds next week as we have a bank holiday coming"

On this, I notice that these batteries don't seem to have connectors? Any advice on what I need to order in preparation?

The two bank holiday's delayed everything here sorry

Yeah all my comms have been with alpha. I’ve not been impressed to be honest as I’ve had to chase for the updates! Mind you, when I do, they do respond promptly.

i suppose they in the same boat . . . . . waiting for a container ship to arrive from China.

Suez canal holdup?
who knows what UK port they going to,
clearing customs?
then Logistics to get deliveries to Alpha

we placed an order for two on 2nd Feb 21 . . . . . so that's 10+ weeks at this point.

i kind of expected a 2-3month lead-time for new stock from China, anything heavy always comes via boat and takes ages.

Charge time . . .

first up is the NOCO Genius-10 (10A Lithium Profile - 14.4v)

shows at 9.77A

edit: few hours later . . . well 3 to be exact.

the NOCO pushing 10A for 3hrs straight gets a bit warm . .

.

the battery itself shows no sign of heating . .

I'm going to have a Lithium fitted in the next couple of months. I've been lurking on this thread for some time and also been in contact with Martyn. As a skier I'm conscious of the cold charging issue and these seem to fit the bill.

From what I gather these are supplied by a UK company and warrantied in the UK @ £650. Is that correct?

I checked with Martyn that the charger he fitted in 2019 would be fine.

I'd need to get someone to fit it (probably Martyn) but I'm tempted. What is the wait time or are they in UK stock already.

Have you looked at the Alpha Batteries website???

Says more are due in stock this month.
Yep I've emailed them and asked some questions. My issue is skiing and the van can drop to -10 to -15 quite easily and I may have to set off whilst its cold so the batteries will be charging. On the other hand the Lithium, allied to my solar, will enable me to keep the diesel heating running longer and keeps the van warm. However on occasion the van is in a car park and not used and there may be no sun. But a low temp battery would fulfil all criteria.

I may have to set off whilst its cold so the batteries will be charging.

This particular battery will obviously prevent charging if the battery is too low in temperature so would be a good solution for you. Once the internal heater has warmed the battery up, the charging will start.

Lots of info in this thread on how it works.
