Insurance Companies

My insurance is up on the 13th and I’m currently with Greenlight but haven’t received there renewal yet so gave them a call today and was told that they would look into it and email me in a couple of hours, asked if I could get it as soon as possible as I’m out the country next week when it’s due. Four hours later still nothing. Called A-plan twice today and still waiting for a call back as all the advisors are busy. Brentacre have phoned me with a price after I filled in there online form but won’t email me the quote. Hell it’s hard work insuring a T6:)

I'm with Brentacre. Gave them a call to get all mods included. They are top drawer imo.

Did you phone the Thatcham office directly? 01635 879905

Mine was up on the 15th with Direct Line, spoke to them earlier this week, and A-Plan quoted £250 less so no brainer. All the mods I have done covered, plus the remap that's in the pipeline. All detailed on a covering letter to the underwriters, so way happier than with the sketchy statements that I had on my old Certificate.

Brentacre have come in £25 cheaper than my previous years insurance but just got my renewal through and it’s £45 cheaper than last year. This is the first time this has ever happened to me on a renewal

Instead of using direct insurance sites, I prefer to compare quotes from various insurance companies. Recently, I am looking for courier insurance for my vehicle that I am going to use commercially. I found this site to compare courier insurance quotes. If you have any other then please share with me.

I'm with Aplan, for me the best bit was after my previous vehicle giving up, I found a t6 that had most of my requirements set off to view, quite a trek approx 400 miles, van was exactly as advertised genuine seller etc, transferred money then rang them to transfer Insurance, first person I spoke to dealt with everything was only put on hold while he got a quote for a months insurance on previous vehicle which I hadn't yet got rid of, less than 15 mins on phone to a normal land-line and all sorted so I could drive home, everything at the time was done in such a rush as my wife was booked in for major surgery the next day and while other vehicle still running wasn't sure how long for, made very easy by them, no buttons to press for this dept or that one, was very nice that they made it easy

I went with just Kampers will not be renewing with them . I waited 44 mins on hold one time I had to make changes to my policy that they made mistakes with. Found them rude as well when asked about agreed value I had to send the pics and a invoice which I did not have a problem with. So asked if it was written of befor the agreed value was sorted. I was given a quote of £20.000 for the camper, you can’t even replace the van for that it’s a 67 plate 204. High line.
This is just my experience others might have been lucky me.

I’ve just gone with Brentacre. After being left on hold by Just Kampers for around 10 mins whilst they got me a price, I hung up and spoke to Brentacre who couldn’t have been more helpful. Not only did they do me a great modified price I can do any other mod I like including camper conversion and my premium will not go up a penny. Only remapping would require an increase. I can live with that.

I've just renewed with Just Kampers. Adrian Flux were quoting £848 for a renewal. Just Kampers quoted £442. Both are with Axa, same policy. Here's the interesting bit, Adrian Flux is owned by HIC, Herts Insurance Service. Guess who owns Just Kampers……… Its all a Scam, they just swap us around to make us feel like we're getting a deal. The true cost of the insurance is probably around the £400 mark, 50+ couple, full license, no accidents/claims/convictions. £75k van, 9kmiles/year/ 2 years NCB, all required security etc etc.

Having just taken my first policy out with A-Plan for a van to camper conversion and having phoned a number of alternatives I have to say that for me that they were very easy to deal with, gave a competitive price and were very open about the policy.

As a young (ish) single male, with a previous accident in the last 2 years, I had a nightmare last year getting insurance for my first van. Looked on here to get advice and called Brentacare, A plan, Adrain Flux and the usual suspects I used in my 12 years driving a car. I don't use my van for work, but I'm self employed, so this amongst other things seemed to throw the 'calculators' that work out risk based off your details. Average quote was ~£1500 after soo many calls! And some insurers wouldn't insure me at all!

Stumbled into John the MD at Fairweather Insurance brokers and he was ace. Went out of his way for me and got me the best deal possible, whilst not stitching me up in the small print as some other companies tried to for a similar price! Paid £911, which was £40 more expensive than cheapest mass insurer, but got a better excess and extras (NCD protection etc). Had a windscreen repair and he replied the same hour, sent someone out next morning and fixed by 11am. Less than 24 hours since I did it. It's a first class service. Spent the whole day calling me back to find a better deal this year. Spot on.
