Small update, correct colour cable arrived today so wrapped up the direct TPMS loom ready for install

Wrapped up the side assist and PLA looms


Removed the rear lights and covers to run the side assist wiring and discovered this!


That’ll be the additional wire for the nearside fog light!



No seal in the plug! Worst dry soldered connection I’ve ever seen! and wire is 0.5mm not 1mm

Side assist cabling now in place


Now waiting for a new rear light plug as the locking tab has been mullered! and time to drill some holes tomorrow

Rear side assist radars fitted


Holes marked and drilled, painted with cotton bud (drags paint onto the back of the hole)


M6 rivnuts with a touch of tiger seal just to make sure nothing exposed to the elements

Tidied up the professional retrofit wiring and now it’s done properly!



Now I’m happier

Westfalia detachable tow bar

Torque it up and refit all the plastics tomorrow. Bumper may have to wait a while as I need to make the two extra holes for PLA and paint the sensor mounts

TPMS module arrived

and that’s where the oem mounting bracket clips into

Managed to strip out the cab

and connected up the loom for the two extra parking sensors for park assist


Ready to run the loom up to the replacement PLA parking module

At last it’s done properly now and hopefully won’t have water ingress for a third time!

Have to say I’m more than disappointed!




How many ****ing joints can you have in one cable run!! Paid a lot of money to have LED headlights professionally retrofitted (spent over £5k on headlights, tail lights and a reversing camera) and this quality of product is appalling!

Needless to say I’ll be redoing it properly!
