Dellmassive`s Camper Van Adventure

Already had a chat with Lee tonight on the phone and explained the differences between them, I suppose it’s like comparing an Apple with a Pear or a T6.1 with a T7 🤷‍♂️……it’s like everything in life, you pay for what you get 👍

I’ll send them out either tomorrow or Wednesday mate @Dellmassive

Here’s me thinking that’s a fair price 🤷‍♂️
Had brembo before on other vehicles very overrated and not very good seems like there relying on the name only these days

I have 330mm Brembos on my Volvo.

£85 a pair from a reputable retailer (could have bought them cheaper but wanted to avoid counterfeits.)

The largest option on the T6 are only 10mm greater diameter, and 5mm greater thickness.

That's minimal extra volume of material - I've not done the maths but it'll be a single digit percentage.

Casting/ forging and machining costs will be comparable.

Internal construction, vanes, etc, will be similar.

Metallurgically they're probably identical. Standard Brembo disc blanks come from the same foundry in India that Lockheed-Delphi's do.

So how is a purchase price of 250% (for the rather smaller T6 option) over my Volvo size in any way justifiable? Clearly it isn't, its just another example of the VW tax at work. We're being bent over for no other reason than the industry has decided it can.

Sorry Dell, I'll leave the rant there before I accidentally do a Linekar!

On a more positive note, let us know how you get on with the Nutexa kit Dell. If were going to cry when our change purse comes out it may as well be for decent gear.

So, why not explain the difference on here? I'm curious and at some point will need to buy new discs/pads.

What are the differences ?, and why not make a point to post this info publicly so we can all make an informed choice next time we buy ?

@Dellmassive, So the Nutexa are £110 more than Brembo? Thats almost 50% more expensive? Im puzzled why you wouldn't get the Brembos!
AutoDoc ship from Europe so take days to weeks to get to you.

Nutexa offer next day free delivery.

AutoDoc are a massive European company, so can offer fair prices by huge bulk buying and central warehousing.

Brembo on the other hand seem to be running on there previous reputation from preference breaks...I've had a few sets now and don't think they are as good as they used to be.

Pagid on the other hand has been my go to disc and pad guys on all my vans once out of warranty.... And I'd always purchased from ECP or CP4L. But now they are quoting mad prices.... Not sure why ?

Having a chat with @Nutexa Frictions

Earlier they went over the various technical reasons as to why there kit was much better than the standard BREMBO..... In a nutshell they use more expensive and better materials in there production. Meaning that the pads and discs should last longer than the standard others, with better performance.

I'm still running the Nutexa set on the van.... We'll see how long they last.

I've opted for standard discs for this is van.... Not drilled or grooved.

But did notice the mad Horse shoe pattern.... Apparently that's Nutexa own patented product.

Either way.

I've decided to keep it UK.

A UK based company.

A UK based manufacturer

A Forum Trade supplier

I'll do a post of fitting them when I get a chance.

....

You can go see the @Nutexa Frictions

Guys at Camper Jam this year as well as other shows.

We'll be heading over to see Russ & Jan at the Stand for cup of tea (Beer) at CJ25.
