KLONDIKE S

Sleeping four, the Klondike S version of the popular design provides comfort in a smaller, lighter package. The vertical door makes for easy access – especially in bad weather − and the groundsheet features a zip to the centre alloy pole, enabling it to be rolled away at the door to create a safe area for an optional stove and a place for muddy boots. The neat Internal Apex Vent Control is easy to operate from inside and works with low-level mesh vents to control ventilation.

That Bell Tent T Pee reminded me of my Scouting days in the 60's. Then I reminded myself that my Dad with a bunch of mates went for 18-30 week at Douglas in the Isle of Man circa 1928. So not a lot of difference in nearly a century, and |I think have seen photos of Bell Tents in the Boer war.
Question? What is the difference between a T Pee and a Wigwam. and no have not googled, anyone know before googling?

Sorry had to Google….depends on which Native American Indian group you came from…the more static groups used Wigwams ( stronger structure ) and the more nomadic groups used Tee Pee ..easy to carry and setup…..I’d guess you’d want a quick get away with the Cavalry chasing you

I think you are right, the teepee poles were more light weight and would be dragged behind the horses. I have an excellent refernce book 'Legends of the American Indians, with some 200 Tribes.
The point of the thread is if good for Native Americans for centuries then the design is a good'un.

Interesting nugget of info!

Simple idea …never thought about it ..Untill Mr @Dellmassive passed it on…..All your cordless power tools use batteries ( most are lithium ) …Simply buy the appropriate USB adapter and you can power your Festival lights ( flagpole ) and it’ll charge up your phones

@VanDamMan - I've got some of those pegs & I think a discount code for future purchases.
I'll try to find it tonight & post on here.
Another forum member bought them & said they were good - so I dug deep & placed an order for a few packets.
Not used 'em yet though, so I can't comment on if they are good or just fancy!!

I use this for extraction from Go Outdoors - solid bit of kit for £9

Also used it to look for fossils whilst camping on the Jurassic coast this summer!!

Hi John….Just brought 4 to try…Then you get the discount code sent. we’ll have to compare notes on how good/bad they are

ps ..brought the 600mm puller….you’ll see plenty of fossils at summer camp…Volkusaurus…and the lesser known Tranusaurus they where very high maintenance and kept changing colour

Since I was knee high I’ve been using another tent peg to pull tent pegs out and once my feet were big enough a boot to put them in.
So far it’s never failed.

I had one of these . . . same colour as well.

it didnt suit our purpose as it didn't have enough meat on it.

by that i mean the hammer end wasn't heavy enough to smash the pegs into hard ground.

the peg puller end worked fine.

++

we ended up giving it to the Farv Inlaw for his fishing kit . . . . He seems very happy with it.

so a good outcome in the end.

Wow £22 for a peg puller - that must one seriously gucci bit of kit! I've been using a couple of £1.50 ones for donkeys years and they've never failed me yet - if the larger pegs (ie. 30cm and made of rebar) are particularly tough to get out, a couple of sideway whacks with a mallet tends to loosen them up nicely. As for knocking them in, that's why god invented lump hammers.

Where I live you can pay a small child 22 quid to pack your tent up.
