Next up new for 2022 is a Bad-ass single burner gas stove.

We first see this little monster at Busfest-21 - ( Thanks for the heads up guys =} )

its been doing the round in the Fishing / Carp community and is highly recommended . .

The main benefits are, it has rubber feet, piezo igniter, heat shield, and the best bit - an integrated heat pipe that pre-heats the fuel before it gets to the burner,

this means it works well in cold and windy weather . . . its also multi fuel.

it comes with a nice little storage bag

This is ours . . .

They work a treat , we use one all the time now

COFFEE POT . . .

if your a coffee lover, then this little gem should be on your radar . .

At home we have the Delonghi & Philips Bean-to-cup machines - which are fantastic,

the problem is they are big and bulky and not so great for taking out with you.

++

So what about camping?

++

well this is where this "Moka Pot" comes in.

put ground coffee in the middle holder, water in the bottom - then chuck it on the stove.

it works by the boiling water in the base starts to pressurise, this forces boiling water and steam up through the coffee grinds to the top section.

they are great.

we are greedy so have the 9cup version ( that 9 espresso cups btw - so 2x good mug fulls of super strong espresso)

look how happy i was to get it - lol (it was a gift from the famalam last year)

1647598860651.png

this is how we use it . . .

just drop it on any stove to boil like any kettle.

using it loads of the last year we have a few mods for it.

it get super mega hot . .

so we use these heat mats, to stop you burning your sides and tables and stop the unit sliding about . .

1647599349580.png

we also use one of these thermos flasks to make a large coffee by doing a MOKA POT full, then add same amount of boiling water, then add milk etc . .

we then have a large flask of fresh coffee that will last a while ( i for the morning while we are making breckkie etc)

The Nanopresso with an NS adapter is really handy. It uses fresh coffee grinds or Nespresso capsules. Very handy for when you’re out and about, I love mine.

Wet suit shoes and speedos to walk to the shower with a lightweight towel and a dollop of shampoo on your head - enough for hair and body and no chance of leaving the shampoo bottle behind!
And no messing about trying to get undressed/dressed in a cramped cubicle.
Quite energising if it’s raining too!

This is our small collection - two Bialettis and two cheapos that were picked up on travels. TBH, I can't tell the difference in coffee quality but that the cheap ones tend to be made with thinner metal and therefore get hot (and make the coffee) faster which is a plus point. There's a reason why most Italian households have at least a couple of these in the kitchen.
