I have a T30 as well - when fully loaded with gear for a week, bikes and boat trailer I would be over the T28 limit. I had a VOSA guy give me a good look on the M6 last year but he chose to pull the guy who’d just overtaken me with a car on the back of his flatbed truck instead - I’d recently had stiffer springs put on the back - with the old ones and my saggy arse he would definitely of pulled me in.Aye was pulled in, think they were having a van day (At that point no rear side windows) as HGV were going past and only vans at the scales.
Mrs was with me but she was asked to jump out while I was put on scales. Since then I have added side windows and put the spare wheel back on, guess that would take me over T28. Good news for me that I have a T30![]()
I'm new to the water cooled world, my T6 is the first water cooled vehicle I have had in the last 11 years. I'm used to having to take shed loads, even now I carry spares for air-cooled vans as see a fair few at the side of the roads up here. Be prepared and radical self reliance are how I like to roll

No - your plated maximum weight would still be 2800kg.I am still keen on the swamped look on my T28...upgrading the suspension will presumably increase load capacity as a side benefit.
For me I went with a LWB T32 140 kombi and I made a Kombi camper.
And all units and seats are removable.
I love my van I would do the same conversion again but I would Defiantly Definitely Definitely add 4motion!!!
If you're going down the full conversion route, I'd go panel van personally. Otherwise you pay for stuff that you don't need with the Kombi. Are you buyin new or used?
Thanks those photos look great. Does that rear bench pull out to make a bed? Was thinking of something like that or a L shape sofa/bed.
Camper conversion with Adrian Flux@stuart-t6 Could I ask what you insure your van as? Is it a van, day van, camper, etc?
