Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Just back from the Scottish highlands and the nc500 essex to the lake district, nc500 back to the lake district then to essex 1750 miles, the van did not miss a beat and took everything in it stride

It looks like you've stopped for a pee on that photo 😂 I said to the Mrs it would have been a good time to do Scotland but unfortunately commitments got in the way. I'm trying to build her up to more than the odd couple of nights in the van without much success, as she prefers the caravan which has much more room (I get that) but I couldn't take it up to the top of Scotland on those single track roads😬 I'm guessing if I want to do it it may be just me & a mate who has a Ford Transit & possibly our younger dog.

Thats the skyfall road from the film, it was the first time we have done it and it is truly amazing, i would have done it again if i could, lucky to have had great weather as well

All i can say is for once i was glad i had 275 width tyres as most of my front left was over the side at one passing place
Yeah, it's 'interesting' for sure - you need patience and precision, and, even then, you're reliant on others reciprocating.

A couple of weeks in the Yorkshire Dales now the weather is set to change … never been before and boy we are loving it!! 5 nights at the lovely Usha Gap Farm campsite ( very reasonable at £27/night and no extras for showers or awnings…facilities are excellent) to start off with. Great walks straight off the site and onto The Pennine Way and The Farmers Arms is a short walk into Muker.

Stunning location. I was up near Reeth for a weekend of mountain biking last month and the views are stunning. Hope the weather holds out.

That was the VW cost to replace my broken Evo spring with ONE single OEM spring.

Which, of course, would leave the front lopsided, as the Evos were put on by CRS to lower and level the van.
Surprised they were willing to do that, wouldn't it leave it in a potentially dangerous condition?

Springs you can get get away with, within certain limits, but a mismatch of dampers are much more critical to road behaviour.

To be fair, that was just the cost on the Web form thing you get asking for authorisation.

Once I realised it was the Evo spring I said I would get it sorted, so we didn't discuss it further.

Oh right, they should try actually talking to people rather than pissing about with web form things ... But that's 'progress' I suppose.

There were some great rides. Loads of bridleways. We didn’t ride anything too techie, just big hills and big views.
I’m going to go again and do the routes with Ally for a few days when we get chance.
Some nice rides from there , .
Exit dales bike centre carpark and there is what seems like a near vertical climb to fremington edge lol.
Check out "ARD ROCK" MTB festival, even if you just go for the camping , beer , bands ,trade stalls etc. Brilliant mtb event in beautiful scenery, .
Alot of ARD ROCK route is only open to public riding for the event

Yeah I keep meaning to go to Ard Rock. Always have something on.
We started our rides at the Dales Bike Centre. Great cafe there too. And free parking .
