Have I been conned? VCDS Mileage log

A couple of months back I bought what I thought was a low mileage (6605 miles) 2024 T6.1.

I recently purchased a VCDS box and ran a log today which says "Mileage: 1048575km-651554mi "

So have I been conned and the van clocked?

That doesn’t sound good to me but im sure someone with more knowledge than me will be along soon. Did you buy it from a vw van centre, dealer or private?

I assumed it 65,155.4 ?? but guess thats what I need someone with more knowledge to tell me

What VCDS are you using?
Can you get that reading verified by a friendly mechanic before chasing it up?

It’s hard to believe that a 65k miles van could be made to look like a 6.5k van. Does it look like it’s dodgy?

To be very honest I have not really looked at the van since I got it. My wife unfortunately became ill and the van was put in the garage until today. Its doesn't look like its done 65k, peddle rubbers look good, no wear on the drivers seat etc.

Could you check with a vw van centre and see if it’s got any service history?

OK, just went to garage and re ran the scan and now it says;
Mileage: 10628km-6603mi

Do not understand - but that is the mileage on the clock. Think maybe it is VCDS user error on my part

Is there a decimal point missing there (i.e. 6515.54 miles)?

Unfortunately I was scammed on a milage scam around 14 years ago on a caddy under 3 years old bought it with 30,000 on the clock no mot so couldn’t check against that done other paid hpi checks etc nothing came back.
Took it to vw 6 months later for works to be done and had the call saying they seen this van 9 months earlier due to a recall showing 62,000 on the clock so unfortunately does happen!
Ps hope this isn’t the case for you 🤞

Just to add, VW dealers reset mileage during PDI so expect a small discrepancy, normally 10-50 miles
Cant remember what the maximum permissible value is but think it may be 100km ???

The milages are logged in various places..

The dsg gearboxand engine ecu store millage logs..... That can we viewed with carista etc.

And obvs vcds

And those milages are logging Kms, so need converting to miles.
