Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Not a new site on here, but we are currently on Port Nan Gael campsite on Mull. Facilities sufficient and clean. Site is well organised and with a shop and bar/ restaurant next door. Nearby bus stop too if you want to go down to the Iona ferry without taking the van off site. An infrequent service but massive double deckers, on single carriageway roads with passing places.
Bonus for us has been great weather so far. It might be less good tomorrow so perhaps we didn’t tick the appropriate boxes on the booking form!

We arrived at Pressingol Farm near St Agnes Sunday afternoon. Nice site (which we last stayed at when we were tenting 32 years ago!) and very quiet at the moment for £28. It’s also only a 20 minute walk into the village where there’s pubs and restaurants and if you're feeling reasonably energetic, the beach is also walkable. Due to my lack of research, we walked into the village early Sunday evening to find that it was mostly closed, at least as far as food was concerned (although one pub did offer us a plate of 'cheesey chips', whatever the feck they are) but we eventually found a packed bar serving proper grub which was a relief. Yesterday, we walked the 5 miles along the coast path to Perranporth and returned suitably knackered but not knackered enough to resist a pasty from The St Agnes Bakery which was expensive but a very good example of the pasty makers craft. During the walk, I well chuffed to see my first Chough and also came across an adder soaking up the sun on a clifftop airfield which IIRC was a WW2 fighter station - I'm no expert but I thought it was just a little bit early for the snakes to be out and about but climate change and all that..... I really needed different kit for the pictures but had to make do with what I had - I tired carrying big bags of camera kit a long time ago.
We're moving on tomorrow to just down the road to Dennis Cove just outside Padstow and quite looking forward to it as we've not been there (or Cornwall in general) for a few years. IMHO, a lot of people get overly snobby about Padstow but we like it and if you go off season it's not too crowded once you leave the harbour.

Dennis Cove is ok as you can walk down a disused railway line (Camel Trail) or cycle, only a short walk into PadStein 😄

Plenty of adders about on the quiet Cornish coast, that spot in particular is good because of the concrete and stone, nice and warm.
